I just landed on earth from Mars and wanted to know the Villa score. So I went to the Stats report on Vital Villa and saw only one comment had been posted.... so we must have won convincingly... :)

Finally a win. Massively pleased for Davis getting his goal. that should give him loads of confidence. I expect really big things from him. his hold up play was outstanding. I'm not keen on letting the opposition have the ball so much and letting them come at us. I really want to see us bully teams. got in to a spell of some really crisp passing for a while, I want to see more of that. Defence was solid, Thought Terry was very good and his partnership with Chester is really coming on. Great to see midfield getting back and helping out as well. for too long we have suffered with that. the slow jogger mentality that makes players look like they don't care if we concede a goal. Up against a young and pacey side I thought we did really well. Bruce gets his reprieve from the hang mans noose for another game. On top of that, the noses bin another manager they thought was their messiah. Top day!! lol

JT was awesome. Also had some of the luck we've been missing in recent years. Lots still to do though Mr Bruce, not sure the "righteous indignation" approach in post match interviews does you any favours.

Being optimistic that performance was improved and the result was good ( 3pts is 3pts ). Being more critical, the result was still good but the performance, at best, average. Great to see a ' 442 ' ( I think ! ). Well at least we had 2 up front, but I am still unsure about midfield and it should be sorted by now. Was it supposed to be a flat 4 in the middle or a diamond formation ? Thought Adomah had a great game but not convinced about Snodgrass.

A result that just papers over the cracks and delays the inevitable for Bruce

Kodja brings back winning mentality. 10 pts, leader on 17. Not looking so bad now.

Long way to go, but it's a start...... again. Can we continue?, who knows.... we're Aton Villa. I still need convincing.

I don't think the all the criticism of Bruce is down to the bluenose connection it mainly that we've had years of managers who don't seem to have a plan A let alone a plan B! Although we blamed Lerner for pulling the plug on the money there are plenty of managers who can put a team together with a plan and do well (or at least better) than any manager we've had. Some of the criticism after yesterday's win is that it wasn't attractive. Well in this division I'll settle for ugly wins. I didn't want Bruce but to be honest I couldn't think of anyone better to get us back in the Premiership. So if this is the start of a run of winning ugly I'll be (if not happy*) willing to go with that. First step is a settled team, then a run of wins home & away. * It will take many years of wins before I'm Happy!!
