That performance was, at the best, very poor. Being more critical and taking into account that we were playing ( with due respect ) Brentford at home, it was pathetic. Brentford were unfortunate not to take 3 points. They looked like a team that at least knew how they were supposed to play. They changed their plan and went through the middle when they saw how slow our central defenders were. I am now convinced that with the current coaching staff, we will not get promoted this year. When Hogan cam on I thought that at least we would be able to see him play alongside Davis up front with a 4.4.2 formation. Not to be, off came Davis. SB played Elmohamady in 3 different positions and we ended up a total shambles. Dr Tony said, correctly, that September was crucial and that was the result ! - total rubbish. Nothing to lose by changing the coaching staff now.

Brentford were the better team. Just shows a well drilled team with a collective style of play beats big money players

Sky reporter said it was all Brentford and they were unlucky not to get all 3 points Villa were apathetic lacking ambition. What we need is a Manager who can get Villa playing wth some drive.

Should have got rid of Bruce before the international break. We need a young hungry manager that knows tactics like Wagner or Silva. Why couldn't we get someone like that? Instead of this roll up the sleeves type we keep hiring that just don't work in this day and age. I'd cut the losses now why there's loads of games left to still have a chance.

I call upon the good doctor to do the right thing as soon as possible. This state of affairs just cannot be allowed to continue. Wait until the end of the month and it will be far too late!

Well the Villa 'engine' has major faults , how can you explain such a poor performance from a home team, again the defence was put under pressure as they were made to defend instead of Villa being the home team and attacking, how many times did we worry there keeper. Agree with many of the other and think Bruce has been given enough time now and we've seen no consistency and we again languish in the lower regions of the championship we were amongst the favourites.... I can't see being anywhere near at present.

Another MOTM poll going to the keeper this week then. Something has got to give and I hope it's the Docs patience. The same kind of start last season saw the back of RDM, so we know the Doc is not afraid to drop the axe. I feel that time has come. Week after week of needless tinkering with the team and going out on to the pitch and the players looking like they don't have a clue how to do the jobs they are overpaid for. That only comes from one place, the manager. A young, progressive, hungry, attacking minded manager is required. not someone 2 decades too late who it now appears is so paranoid about us losing a game, he forgets to go and try to win one.

I agree Bruce should take some of the blame for yesterday, but the players were also at fault. We couldn't seem to string more than 3 passes together without giving it straight back to them - I lost count of the amount of under hit passes I saw intercepted and poor 1st touches that saw the ball rebound straight to a Brentford player. They just looked far hungrier than we did, winning almost every 2nd ball. I was expecting 4 points from these 2 games, so Boro now becomes a must win. Just watched their highlights from yesterday and Traore absolutely tore Bolton to pieces - Taylor is going to be in for a very tough time on Tuesday
