Two things stuck out for me (watched it live in USA). Whelan remembered how to tackle again. Keinan Davis is a real prospect - proper centre forward.

4 goals, 1 hat trick, youngsters played. What's not to like!

Great result, very pleased for Davis. amazing what can happen when you play some hungry youth and actually attack. I will say this.. i'm refusing to get carried away. We are 8 points adrift after 4 games, still in the bottom half of the table and 1 win at home against a team with their own issues does not make a season. Let's see what teams he puts out on Tuesday and Friday. Is Mr Bruce going to revert to type and play a dour team with Gabby up front and not learn from today?

Yeah, the pluses outweight the minuses today but the defence needs to do some work to tighten things up at the back. On the plus side, Hourihane's hat-trick plus being played in his rightful position and young Keinan Davis......what a match he had! Got to keep this going now.

Attacking exciting football and a win! Davis made such a difference. Said for a while that we needed a forward who is good with his back to goal. Holds the ball up. It sticks with him!!! That gives midfield players time to support and run in behind striker. Neither Kodjia or Hogan offer that. They are better playing off the last mans shoulder. Very encouraging. Hopefully see Hepburn-Murphy soon too

Spot on krfeskivilla, I've been saying the same for a while. Our midfield are usually so deep because the ball keeps coming straight back at us. A strong forward who can hold it up will allow them to get into the box. Hopefully Davis will keep his spot for Friday night.

As I said on a previous post, I knew we would win today and score goals. My grandson still has that twinkle in his eyes as he has a 100% record so far ( 2 visits to VP & 2 wins ). Massive positive with the performance of Keinan Davis - at last a real centre forward. Playing Hourihane further up the pitch has proved the point and I suspect that Lansbury could be the same. Our defensive weakness on the right side was so obvious from the start - even SB saw it when he replaced Hutton - and needs a solution. The Hutton/Elmohamady link did not work and that put pressure on the defense. Any team, and in particular a defense, is like a chain, only as strong as the weakest link. Our weakest link was there for all to see today.

Loved that, been way way way toooooo long since we were entertained like that. Delighted for the young players and also that Hourihane was allowed to get forward and show us what he can do. Lovely to see 'that' one not in the team as well, heard he;d got injured in training, another said he'd had a fall out. No idea what is true there.

Just delighted and hopefully this will show the team what they can do as they were defeating themselves. WIth what we have, I still say we should walk the league.
