A decent week, you'd have to say.

Amazing result. Even the non-deluded Liverpool fans are saying we outplayed them. Judging by what people are saying, Benteke was an absolute machine. And don't let the possession think we were lucky, we were under pressure only at the end.
Avfc94 we do
Fantastic, fantastic Christian Benteke! Two superb goals and incredible back heel assist! UTV!
soccer15
And Downing has yet to assist or score in the league for Liverpool. Commentators say his last league goal was for Villa against Liverpool! Haha
soccer15
Fantastic result and to top it off i had 5.00 on benteke to score first and Villa to win at 16/1
marshyboy87
if you've not seen the goals, you are in for a real treat. Lovely performance Villa, soaked up a load (and I do mean a load) of pressure then struck
The Fear
Magnificent well deserved win. Every one of the lads did well today. This could be the start of the Villa revival. A few shrewd signings and we will be challenging the top 6 soon. Great to see a Villa team passing the ball around again.
fulford
oh and just walked through them at times!
The Fear
What a result! This is team is really starting to click and I can't praise Lambert enough. He kept his cool after a tricky start, worked with the lads and now he has them full of confidence and playing well as a team. I seem to remember the guy who gave the interview for Liverpool say Benteke wouldn't get any joy from Agger and Skrtel - underestimate our beast at your peril! He ripped them apart just like he has with every defender he has come up against. What a find from Paul Lambert, few more of those in January please. Might be on early on MOTD as well! Can't wait! UTV!

Love the winning feeling...

CDX_EIRE
Brilliant result. I'm watching the rerun of the game, 13 minutes in,it's 0-0 Lol Eagerly awaiting the goals...
Pride of Lions
Blimey I just woke up. I had an amazing dream that we won at Anfield.

Look at the stats. If you were to only read Liverpool possession a whopping 61 per cent, and shots total 26 and 17 of them on target you would never conclude that Villa won. Villa out of the bottom 6 and a goal difference now comparable to the other 'duffers' in the bottom third. All the more important as I have a feeling QPR will get out of the scrap at the bottom. Anyway got a league table for last 6 games current forum? Stunned. And I WILL stay up to watch MOTD tonight!

I've got a stinking cold...but I don't care after this result...those front two look a fabulous pairing....well done Villa....
MASON_PARKER
Yeaggggghhhhhhhhh!!
Pking
I've said it befor on here but Weimann reminds me so much of Gary Shaw when he started playing regularly, I just hope he continues to mirror him but without the knee injuries of course!!!
villatillidie
can't wait to hear Waldorf and Stadler telling us how brilliant but unlucky Liverspots were on MOTD tonight........priceless!!! lol
griffgriff
Watched the game today and Villa were fantastic. Soaked up the pressures from Liverpool early on and totally against play up stepped Benteke with a goal with such pace Reina stood no chance with. Then the second goal was sublime, fantastic back heel from Benteke to Weimann as though both have been playing together all season. Benteke didn't even look to see if Weimann was behind him. Game was over then for me, but wow we struck again. What a find Benteke has been. In the second half Liverpool came at us again, but we often put 10 men behind the ball, with just Benteke up front and just soaking it up and make the odd intelligent break. For all Pool's possession and shoot, most off target, we could have scored 2 more. We road our luck with some decisions but the penalty appeal was 50/50 for me. Suarez tried it on again as usual and deservedly got a Yellow, but I hope Villa appeal Benteke's Yellow as Johnson was all over him, really trying to wrestle him to the ground, silly that he reacted but not a yellow for me. Can't wait for the Chelsea game now. Really think we only need one signing in Jan, perhaps a creative midfielder. My question is now after today's performance, how good would we be if Lambert could get Given, Gabby, Ireland, Bent and N'Zogbia playing like the rest of our current team AND does Vlaar get straight back in that defence when he is fit again ?
tvrwhitey
Forgot to say how fantastically well we held our shape today.
tvrwhitey
Just finished watching the rerun of the match. We were brilliant! Defence defended, assisted by the midfield and we scored the goals.... An all round team effort. Well Done Villa!
Pride of Lions
Well I did say 1v3 . Dam new I should of went bookies lol. Great win! How much is Benteke worth? If he was doing this @ ManUtd, he would be worth 50mill? So he must be worth atleast 100mill at us? I'm so proud of our team!
Blitz
Dah Dah Dah Dah! Yeeeeehaaaaaaa UTV!
AdzVilla11
Lambert is making it all click. Where are all the doubters now? We have been turning it on all season, just needed to get the final results.Up the Villa
wittonwisdom
Could it be we actually have a manager that knows what he's doing at last ? Spot on !
Pancho Villan
An incredible counter-attacking display. Absolutely ripped them on the break. Looking good.
Villa_Grizzly
tvrwhitey you're spot on, the penalty shout was 50-50, Agger had Clark's shirt too. What a great win, all the better that we can shut all the loudmouth bindippers up for a while, and there are plenty of them around me I am dying to meet on Monday morning. Keep believing. UTV.
Madirish
Still have to say that lawrenson is a major reason not to watch motd.the guy just needs to retire.complete waste of time listening to his drivel.
wittonwisdom
Highlight for me was after we weathered the early storm and went 1-0 up, Lambert had Clark over on the sideline loading him with tactical instructions. Brilliant to see the manager so involved and not scared to change things as he sees them, Lambert is very tactically aware. Well played Mr Lambert well played.
AdzVilla11
Loved the Shearer comments on MOTD. Bit early to say he is like Drogba though. He may well be in 3-4 seasons, but has a long way to go to be as good as Drog. Hope Villa can refuse all advances and get into the CL with his help. Have to say I'm loving the partnership between him and Weimann. Reminds me of the Andy Gray and Brian Little days or dare i say it, Withe and Shaw. Young Weimann is looking that good too.
tvrwhitey
Mr Lerner. DO NOT SELL BENTEKE.
PiperUK
Its not surprising that livercack had better possession than us they had no recognised strikers on the pitch. Thought Baker had an outstanding game yesterday.
daveyboyr
Hurray !! A great win and some great goals. Weeeeeeee !!!
ExpatVillaShirt
As stated elsewhere fantastic win sure we will have more ups and downs as this young side gels. So where are the idiots who were saying Lambert out now ?.
