Amazing result. Even the non-deluded Liverpool fans are saying we outplayed them. Judging by what people are saying, Benteke was an absolute machine. And don't let the possession think we were lucky, we were under pressure only at the end.

And Downing has yet to assist or score in the league for Liverpool. Commentators say his last league goal was for Villa against Liverpool! Haha

Magnificent well deserved win. Every one of the lads did well today. This could be the start of the Villa revival. A few shrewd signings and we will be challenging the top 6 soon. Great to see a Villa team passing the ball around again.

What a result! This is team is really starting to click and I can't praise Lambert enough. He kept his cool after a tricky start, worked with the lads and now he has them full of confidence and playing well as a team. I seem to remember the guy who gave the interview for Liverpool say Benteke wouldn't get any joy from Agger and Skrtel - underestimate our beast at your peril! He ripped them apart just like he has with every defender he has come up against. What a find from Paul Lambert, few more of those in January please. Might be on early on MOTD as well! Can't wait! UTV!
