I'm so proud to be a Villa fan these days.I can't remember the last time I saw a Villa team so full of desire, the football is getting all the time, the boss seems to know exactly what he's doing.Even if we do go down I'm fairly confident that Lambert and most of the team will stay and we'll roar back. The futures bright UTV!

We were good for the point, pity we didn't grab all 3. Pundits were saying Arsenal not at the races... Maybe we made them not at the races... UTV

3 hard matches, 2 good performances, 1 point. that'll do donkey, that'll do. Well done boys. Tonight one of those you cherish, disappointed we didn't get all 3 points but hope for the future is there. At some point Paul Lambert should use this oldy but goody: 'Rise like Lions after slumber In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew Which in sleep had fallen on you - Ye are many - they are few.

we seems to be getting a high percentage of shots on target recently (same percentage more or less against *****teh). Which is nice. Frankly we deserved to win that because of the Gabby penalty and the freak save from Holman. Why didnt Ireland play?? Why wasnt Baker on the bench, instead of Delph, say ?? Playing KEA just confirmed all our suspicions that hes not quite the full biscuit, at least not yet (and quite perhaps never).

We closed them down rapidly, gave them no room to play. Hadly suprising they weren't at the races. Typical of pundits to play our performance down. We were definitely good for the point and maybe all three.

It wasn't a penalty tbh Mala, it was a great tackle.

Might feel different if we werent being *****ed over by officials every week - I asw the tackle on LED TV - stone cold penalty, took the legs.

Good performance, great pressing and desire off the ball. Think Ireland should have started instead of KEA, he has the ability to unlock the defence which we lacked. Holman's strike was brilliant, if only it snuck in. Have to take max points next match.

Great game, god atmosphere. Just watched MOTD. Don't know why I bother. Wasn't the game I was watching. We dominated in midfield for large parts, look dangerous on the break and were very composed at the back, even when Vlaar went off though lacked that final ball again. It's getting there. Proper battling performance though. Went to the Holte Pub for a couple of Jars and big Ken, Sid Cowans, Tony Morley and a few other Villa Legends were in there, having a beer and chewing the fat. Wouldn't want to belong to any other club.

Can I just ask where did you pull the stats from? Not to take Sky Sports as gospel but they said the Arse had 8 shots and 1 on target...? with 37% to Villa 63% to Arsenal...

I reckon Ireland was on the bench only to be fit for reading. I think he would have made the difference. Bannan really is playing good football. But does it seem that he lacks a little confidence?

Really enjoyed the game today. Super football , serious intent and a million miles from wher we were 12 months ago. Looking forward Tuesday. BB was mom but I think we have a solid chap at left back in Enda Stevens. Don't think he put afoot wrong. UTV.

Good point, and we're out of the bottom three. Thought Stevens again had a good steady game. I enjoyed the game, the team as a whole played well, though KEA was a little poor ar times. Pity that effort from Holman didn't go in. I hope they treat Reading and QPR the same as these are matches we need to win.

Rotation is working. It was definitely not a penalty. Mertesacker got the ball before legs. Gabby didn't put the ball far enough ahead of himself.

CDX... not sure where Mike gets them from, either official site or BBC I think. Ones I saw had us at 50/50 as well, match of the day ones I think. Looks more than right to me, we did have equal possession. Shots on target was what was showing up on the screen at Villa as well, although I did say to the ladies who sit behind me that I wasn't convinced on those stats!

not totally sure we can say rotation is working judging by our current league position 444, you'd need to explain that a bit more mate? Players do look hungry and are putting in 100% effort though.

Yes, fair point Fear. We aren't running away with anything. The lads that come in seem to be raring to go and prepared though. Even losing Vlaar yesterday didn't affect the team performance. They all know what needs to be done and worked as a team rather than individuals. Looks like there's good competition even for places on the bench and PL has let them know that no-ones undroppable!!

One of Bannan's best games for Villa. He is such a accurate passer of the ball, if he could just work on the defensive side. He can ping cross field 40 yd balls all day long when he's in the right mood.

Ok cheers Fear I was only able to catch bits and pieces of the game although I did see about 70mins if you add the total time together... The shots are the only thing I would have any beef with because from what I seen Arsenal only had one shot on target and that was early in the game when Brad saved it with his legs the rest were wide or over...

444 - Losing Vlaar didn't affect the team , but it made me bloody nervous ! Fair play to the defense for holding it together though .
