Honestly, I think it's time to forget about merit. Gonna have to get the big names in and make sure they perform because we're cutting off our nose despite our face right now. Bent, N'Zogbia, Given, Benteke & Albrighton all gotta start for the foreseeable.

we were 8th after 8 this time last season. Gutted, we have no leaders/experience, you can't bring through this many kids and champ quality players all at the same time without those two ingredients to help them. Gulp.

Fair argument schoolboy but Lambert will go back on what he's said to all the players and change his ethos by doing that. It's a start on the road to having Eck back and defending all game. The change from the horrendousness last season will take time to get out of them. Didn't see the game but we were in it till the end and away from home etc. Radio said we had good spells. Thank McGrath that Bent played eh?? Could've lost if he hadn't, oh wait a minute...

True Fear but if you look at the last games of last season and go back, it's probably very similar to our form then.

We lack real quality in Midfield imo, Im sure Lambert will get us winning sooner or later, but Randy will need to dip his hands in his pockets in January if he wants a slice of that 70% increase in TV revenue me thinks!

Another frustrating day its all about chance creation and taking those chances... Defensively we are ok for the most part, fine in possession but its the final ball that kills us.. We have little in the way of creativity I would give Nzog and Albie a start next match and line up straight 442 with Bent n Benteke up top... Im still not going to get carried away we havent been terrible this season and getting negative will help nobody... We havnt been great but we still have more than Wigan, Southampton, Norwich, Reading, QPR and over time I think we will have more than Sunderland and West Ham...

Agree with Villan444. Eck started the season with a team that was starting to find form from Houllier & by Xmas he'd stamped it out of them. Lambert has the same situation except the other way round. He needs at least until January. I'm prepared for more of the same for a while yet.

There's just not enough quality quality or pace in midfield atm, plenty of industry but no ideas. For me N'Zogbia, Al Ahmadi, Ireland Albrighton is a million times better than the one we fielded today. All faith that Lambert will get it right and we'll have a steady season to build from, but we need to get some results or we're gonna be putting a lot of pressure on ourselves.

PL needs to work out what our best 11 is. Its nice everyone getting game time and all but lets not delude ourselves we need points. For me its Guzan, Lichaj, Clark, Vlaar (our best player thus far), Lowton, Ireland, Bannan, el ahmadi (pips it ahead of delph), Zog, Bent, Benteke. Gabby as a sub pretty much every game in the 65th minute. I'm pretty sure that team could have got a point at least today, but i guess we will never know. Bennett is not good enough yet. He will learn his trade and looks like he could be decent but just does not cut it. Should not be starting.
