Stats are looking better than last season though the number of attempts on target is still fairly poor.

PoL - Not bothered in stas for friendlies, especially those against teams who we will never meet in a serious game, in conditions that are different expected in the Premier League. I am not bothered if we don't have a shot on target until August 18th. The stats are meaningless. It is all about preparation for the start of the season. If you start worrying about stats for a friendly in July you will send yourself to the madhouse.

when did marshall play?? did i miss something?

Delph was my choice for Villa captain, both in the, hopefully temporary, absence of Petrov and as his eventual permanent successor. I can also see the validaty of the Clark-for-Captain argument. But Delph would be my choice. Wouldn't read too much into his captaincy here, though.

i think you meant delfouneso. he subbed for gabby and did got a yellow towards the end haha
Gruck
Don't mind me I'm dumb. Corrected. Had to swop them around because of big names lol

@villaWillRiseAgain what makes you think Delph deserves to be captain? ive never thought he was very vocal but i do think he likes to put his foot in which i like never shys away from a tackle but i think he is a bit weak and needs to bulk up
black_villian
b_V --He came with a terrific reputation @ Leeds. I saw a clip of him being interviewed after he arrived. He just struck me as being cut from a different cloth to most young, British footballers. He could be a Villa Roy Keane or Vieira but without the red mist. Don't always think a good captain has to be vocal. Some of the best lead by example.
VillaWillRiseAgain
Nice to have discussions about who would be a good captain. But I think none of us are in a decent enough position to have a decent opinion. Quite frankly I think this Paul Lambert bloke probably knows best - as opposed to our previous manager who knew jack 5h1t.
