Again proving 6 defenders on the pitch with no attacking intent simply doesn't work at this club.

marshyboy87
Thank Paul McGrath thats over! TBH Lerner is to blame for all this. He's the one who appointed the turd!
Pride of Lions
Final Stat of the season we all want now is McLeish gone .
Eddy1
Thats what Ferguson what her to keep am so glaaad City have beat Manure to the title. Fergie will not be getting his easy 6 points next season once his clueless friend gets a p45 on monday. SAF knows Mclueless is a rubbish manager yet he keeps poking his his nose in our business to keep him Disgraceful. Fergie only understands and cares for one thing and thats manure
Shane Villains
bye alex.
lerneravfc
gosh just look at them stats.... can't even defend villa this season. if mcliesh is not sacked... i dunno
villa4life87
marshyboy87, its not worth killing yourself over mate.
lerneravfc
I really sincerely hope he does go. I'm confident he will go, but then like Mr Fear, I was confident we wouldn't sign him in the first place and look how that turned out. I'm encouraged by the report that Paul Faulkner has been in the US and the pair of them are coming over. Its been utterly miserable since the moment MON walked out
revolutionatlast
biggest thumbs up of the day must go to the "silent majority" they were excellent in their silence! lol
griffgriff
I look forward to waking up to the news tomorrow.
Stephen Jay Hawkings
Aston Villa 0 yet again how does the muppet ever expect us to score with the number of defenders in midfield that he has. P45 for McMUPPET please! sort it out Randolph!
Randy bollox
Says it all about his mentality that he thinks we need 6 defenders against Norwich . Says it all about his ability that even with 6 defenders , we still lose !!
CA_Villa
Get lost now Mcleish! A true wally of a bloke. Absolute clown!
Welsh Villain
LOL! : Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish: "It was an absolutely shocking, woeful display. Maybe some of the boys were thinking about their holidays already. "That team needs a change and there will be change. That wasn't an Alex McLeish team today. We need to bring more quality into the squad. "I take (the fans' booing) on my shoulders for the sake of the players, I agree with the fans' frustration about our display. "I'm expecting the board to back me. I have no reason to think I won't be (Villa manager next season). We've got through a really tough season. I've won lots of trophies as a player and manager and I haven't turned into a bad manager overnight."
SchoolBoyError
Sounds like he's having a breakdown, trying to make sure he will get another job elsewhere. Which, he won't. Playing 6 defenders, that's woeful.
Dumble
No Alex, you've always been one. Nob.
Dumble
As the official site says : It's worth pointing out that there's certainly no shame for Villa in losing to Paul Lambert's team, who have proved to be a slick and stylish side in their first season in the Barclays Premier League.........Un-********-believable.
jonah
was it not 7 defenders? only Ireland, Gabby & Heskey are not defenders. He'd got midfielders on the bench so why not play them all game. It just might have made a difference. But it just shows how negative he is. Mcleish Resign!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have some respect for the club, yourself & especially the life blood of this great club the fans. Who contrary to media belief are not fickle we just know when things at our club are not right and need to be corrected. And you are not right for our club.
onlyoneteaminaston
no shame? how much evidence do you need that this manager is shocking lol its so funny and humiliating at the same time
villa4life87
Mr mcleish I am backing the board to sack you, I can give you plenty of reasons to think you will not be our manager next year and I agree you haven't become a bad manager overnight. You always were a bad manager. Now do us all a favour and p*** off back to the ****hole you came from!
Lion Heart
SchoolBoyError normally comes out with a satirical joke but Eck actually said that!! WTF. How can the bloke look at hmself in the mirror, I bet he thinks that his ***** smells of flowers aswell. How can any of the team play under him again after slagging them off?? He said yesterday that he's sad that we lost Bent for 19 games as he expected 4-5 goals from him. YOU DON'T GET GOALS JUST BY PLAYING SOMEONE IN A POSITION AND CROSSING YOUR FINGERS F'ECK
Villan444
^ lol, yeah you can't make that stuff up mate. He's so ludicrous I'm actually starting to like him a bit.
SchoolBoyError
6 defenders... Herd was always a CM if im correct??? Eck out... i need not say anymore... he had his chance when the team was supported up until xmas...
CDX_EIRE
McLeish is supposed to be meeting Lerner and Faulkner this coming week. Surely they will put him (and us) out of his (and our) misery.
chocolate teapot
How many times do we have to tell Lerner ? McLeish had his chance...he proved he wasn't up to it....now FFS get rid of him.
MASON_PARKER
^ Hopefully McLeish, Faulkner and Randy have some kind of Mexican stand off and all fire each other simultaneously.
SchoolBoyError
Finished 5 points behind Wigan - says it all really. Thank god this season is over. Fresh start now hopefully with a decent manager who knows how set up a team to score goals and entertain.
WentToRotterdam
What this thread is missing is a comment from Gordonsleftboot saying what a good performance this was under a genius manager....
juddy
Wish I shared your optimism but I still think he'll be in charge next season.
AVbornandbred
If he is still in charge next season we are destined for the championship. We only stayed up this season literally by default!
maigrait
Season ticket holder for the past 45 seasons...If McLeish is Manager it will NOT be 46
krfeskivilla
Last season Blues who were one of the worst teams I had ever seen won a game more games than us and finished on more points. By all accounts we flirted with relegation last season also. Think that is slight exageration from the King of all Canutes
Dead Souls
Krfeskivilla - good riddance mate, I'll be there supporting my team.
PiperUK
Today's game pretty much sums the whole season up. An absolute disgrace for such a huge club. The manager and the board; I'm holding my nose when I look at you. I'm certainly not buying another ticket until I feel that you can be bothered to deliver value for money. Disgusting treatment of the fans that pay all your stinking wages. Alex, you have to go as you have insulted our club with your sterile tactics and your claim that you deserve another season with this tripe. If you stay, then the board should pack up, pi** off and let some professionals take charge. Bl**dy arrogant amateurs, all of you.
Windy Villain
Schoolboy hahaha classic. Piper aka McLeish's mum, will you still be on here saying he shouldn't have been axed when he is tomorrow? Clearly by that performance even the players want him out. I would say bye Eck but you don't deserve goodbyes, just GET OUT!
AdzVilla11
6 defenders in the last game where nothing really mattered - we were safe - geeezuz - this guy is a gumby.
leftfoot
piper. What team is that mate? I think we are all fairly certain you are not a Villa fan. And as for your boorish comments regarding somebody who has obviously put heart, soul and money into this club over 46 years, which would take in our days in the 3rd division, the only good riddance is if you stop infesting this site. krfeskivilla - fair play to you fella, ignore the comments from the idiots mate. But you will be be back next season because McMuppet is gone either tomorrow or Tuesday.
voiceoftheholte
On the plus side though, the catering at Villa Park has won awards this season! What a **** shambles. PRIORITIES??? McLeish is starting to resemble Saddam Hussein's old advisor 'Chemical' Ali. "There are no UN troops in Irag. Baghdad has NOT fallen *A British tank drives through smoking rubble in the background*
heavy d
Battered. Poor, shocking, a combination? Just go quietly please...
thorpyuk
I do hope you are right VOTH.....
juddy
Long way to Norwich from N Wales and the journey home was not an enjoyable one. That has to be the worst performance away from home I can remember given the situation. We were safe yet did we try to play some of the kids we will need next year? No. Did we play the one player who may have scored? No. It was turgid stuff and whilst I did not join the chant to sack McLeish, I agree it is the only course open to the club. McLeish's after match comments were a joke given what had gone before. Blame the players? Yes to some extent they are not the best we have ever had but they did not pick themselves. What is Gabby contributing? Not sure Del Boy will make it but at least he runs around a bit. This was a sad and sorry performance. No heart, no fight, no imagination. Not all McLeish's fault, the board have to share that too, but McLeish is the one who has to go - first. We could have done without another closed season of turmoil, now we can't do without it.
Gordonsleftboot
Gordonsleftboot you have given him more time than most I gave him 3/4 of a season based on the squad he inherited being lightweight on quality but the dismal football we have been forced to endure is down to tactics as well as players not performing poor tactics + poor man management can only lead to the disaster this season has been.Time to sweep the decks new boss who can get the players and fans onside will make all the difference to our club.
