Lowest scorers in the prem!! No Eckscuses.... Eck out now.
half a job done today shay given could well of saved us !! It's down to chelsea and spurs to do us a favour now
Quality match, reminded me of Barca v Real Madrid! Thanks to Carlos and Given, both saving off line. Both teams had a fair pen claim. Draw about right. Utter gash of Midlands football. Horrible!
The Fear
Think a few will enjoy the press tomorrow!
The Fear
Better application but lack sufficient quality to put the ball away. Thank goodness the likes of Wigan and Bolton both lost anyway. Oh. Oh no hang on. The thing that concerns me is not only are we relying heavily on inexperienced youth, but that youth has only really had experience of winning things, they've not dealt with this type of pressure. Suddenly we are now being written off by the pundits (yet remarkably they still seem to insist its not McLeish) who generally thought we weren't getting any more points. Well thats 1. Full support for our kids against Spurs and Norwich I say, then enormous protest at VP after the game at Norwich regardless of the result. We still might just get away with this...
Do you know something Fear?
Have to say we created a lot of chances and Gabby just cant put any away. Great save by Given at the end and Cuellar diving header off the line. Good to see Dunne back, could be just in time to really help us. But I have to say, Alan Hutton is a serious liability. He cant cross when he gets forward. Much rather see Lichaj there than on the wing.
a much needed point but McLiesh still has to go...
Missed most of the coverage as the internet was playing up over here. 4 bookings?.... Good point though.
Pride of Lions
Another game... no wins.. no goals.. *YAWN* very predictable. The only positive is that it's looking like we'll scrape over the line, but we need either Wigan, QPR or Bolton to trip up. Think Blackburn are gone. Get the utter pathetic steaming turd out ASAP.
lol, Alex McLeish: "I have had to show my experience and leadership and that has come to the fore. I will not curl up and die. I will persevere to the end as I always have done."
More points the better, i thought we would need one more point with our goal difference and other teams fixtures, that could change if QPR and BBurn get anything tommorow. No point in moaning about Mcleish now, he has done the damage, WHATEVER he does from now till end of the season i want him gone from Villa...Hope the board make the right decision.
I've managed to get a link to alex mcleish's secret team tactics. This link may dissapear very soon, so be quick hehe
we should have won but all in all we got a point and i think that QPR and Blackburn arnt gunna get anymore points this season
Ted 369
does anyone else think that Mcleish is borderline insane or is he is just delusional. His post match interviews would be hilarious if it wasnt so serious. "I have had to show all my experiance and leadership"- is that in how to earn yet another draw and fail to score yet again, lowest scorers in the prem -another stat for you McClueless
Randy bollox
if blackburn and QPR loose 2moz then we are safe as QPR have got to get 6 points and still gotta play Chealsea and also blackburn will then need 7 points from 2 games not possible how ever our goal difference is alot better then most teams below us (no joke intended) Keep the faith love the players hate the manager and board
Ted 369
Ted 369: why would QPR need to get 6 points? They would ned to that if we got one more and they lost tomorrow, but at the moment they need 4 providing we hold a better goal difference - by the end of the season.
I cant understand why carruthers isnt playing... the chap has no fear exactly what we need at this point...
Villan444 you are a complete prat. Such a negative sheep. We should of been 4 up by half time. 13 goal attempts, 10 corners. Positive attacking football. Well done lads.
Piper it was Albion that had 13 attempts and 10 corners. I'm afraid we had 8 with 3 corners and were certainly not positive during this game. We came for a point and we got it.
Lion Heart
Should've, would've, could've piper. Same story all ******** season. The league doesn't lie. We have scored less than 19 other teams and conceded more than 12 others. That's relegation form NO MORE ECKSCUSES YOU SHEEP LOL.
Lol piper. You didn't even know who was playing at home. I don't need to say anymore. You can put your foot in it for us!!
Piper - they had a clear penalty shout turned down, and Given made an absolutely outstanding save at the death. WHat wll it take you to open your eyes?? Mcleish has achieved the worst home villa record in 138 years.... still not starting to put any doubts in your mind?
That could be a life saving point. Couldn't believe we didn't score given the chances we created but then that's what you get if you keep playing Gabriel Agbonlahor out on the left wing. Got to give Heskey some credit though for his work ethic and holding play. 'He used to be slow, but now he's all right, walking in a Heskey wonderland.'
Phew! Another thrill a minute goal fest for Villa!! Wigan have beaten Man U, Arsenal and Newcastle in recent weeks. What r u doing nxt season Martinez? Fancy a re-think and reunion with N'Zogbia?
Adam Deuce
Piper you going to Ecks for a Sunday roast today? A very needed pt, we are nearly over the line. If we get no more pts I see us up on goal difference so it would be nice to get another pt against Spurs to make it really safe. If we stay up with 37, 38pts we are very very lucky. At least Eck is on his way and we can start a fresh soon!
still think mcleish is **** but some of you should actually watch the game before commenting. We should have been out of sight by half time, yes they had a stone wall pen but so did we, yes given made a great save but Foster made plenty as well.
AVbornandbred, we should have been out of sight at half time against Bolton too, but have lost more points this season from winning positions than any other team in the Prem. I can't see QPR getting anything from Chelsea or Citeh, so if they lose tomorrow they need to beat Stoke and/or a miracle result against a Citeh team with the title on the line. Blackburn, thankfully, are pants, and a loss against Spurs will more or less see them down. All of that said, we should now be OK, but one more draw/win will do to make sure, then we can say goodbye to the Tartan Turncoat and start again.
I'll get me coat
AVbornandbred i watcched the game and i do not know what you saw . Fact is we had 7 DEFENDERS ON THE PITCH. This was McLeish his tactic just as Hleb described them the formation was 7 - 3 7 defenders playing and hoofing the ball no real midfield presence. Ireland, Bannan, Carruthers. He did not even bother put Albrighton on the bench because he had set up for a draw the man is a loser. Our squad of players are better than the baggies. to put 7 defenders on the pitch you only playing for one thing and that's a draw. I really do not know what Lerner is playing at he should just sack him now. Do not put it past him i think McLueless wants us to go down he sees that as a way he may just hang on to his job because good managers will not want it then. Did you see him on match day sat in the dug out with out care only leaving Grant all the work on the touch line. Even Matt Kendrick pointed it out in his Sunday mercury article
Shane Villains
A most welcome point for those who support Mcleishes tenure this was better than some of the dross served up this season.Gabby we know is carrying an injury and seems to have lost some confidence playing out on the wing its no supprise. A brilliant sunday for us with both QPR & Blackburn losing if stoke can do us a favour at QPR we should be safe. Not that I lack confidence in the lads to get a win out of the last 2 games ahem.
