On the plus side of today...

Glad thats over. Manure didn't even need Howard Webb on the bench.
Pride of Lions
We are the worst side in the premier league by far, really really poor...i was hoping we could do City a favor today but no chance, Young may have been a diving little *****er but they would of hammered us anyway.

For the umpteenth time this season McMuppet surrendered the name of Aston Villa before a ball was kicked. I will be at Bodymoor Heath this week to display my thoughts to McMuppet when he drives in to training. This capitulation of our great club is not happening in my name. And for everybody with claret and blue blood coursing through your veins should feel the same way. We all support the Villa. Other than gordonsleftbooy I know of not a single supporter of McMuppet. The man must go now.

useless just said in interview after game that he puts a team out expecting to get something out of "these games" .....is that these games like arsenal when we can't expect to get anything? and yorkey said that he is worried for villa that they are a big club who shouldnt be fighting relegation and he cant see them getting another point.......we have less points than the *****e did last year at this stage, are we all confident hes the man to keep us up? im not!
griffgriff
Nice to know you keep thinking of me VOTH. Protest if you like, but not in my name. I'll simply keep supporting the younger players who gace everything they had this afternoon. Some good performances there but are we going to look for the positives? No, thought not. Lets whinge and moan as per usual.
Gordonsleftboot
Yes we weren't helped by a blatant dive but it wouldn't have changed the result, we just aren't good enough. We are going to end up with our lowest points total in the prem and the manager still won't be sacked. Can't believe the state our club is in at the moment, we deserve so much better than this **** week in week out.
Lion Heart
Only good thing to come out of that dros was young Carruthers. He looks like a good little player, so i suppose we'll be selling him shortly. ***** off Mcleish & you Lerner, i've had enough now.
benny003
Good performance by Heskey gordon!! Why didn't he blood another youngster?? Stop scratching at the depths for positives. Eck out. No Eckscuses.
Villan444
With all due respect to the young players in the team, we are short of experience in the side and a Manager. We do have some good young players coming through the ranks, but playing them all together is too much to expect, specially with an Idiot in charge.
Pride of Lions
GET HIM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Lerner is a joke, makes me feel sick the fact of what he did last summer, no respect for the fans shove your coaches and pub up your arse. People blame MON - Lerner signed the cheques - Go away!!!!!!!!
cb_82
A Manager's role should be to get the best out of players by inspiring and motivating. I fail to see how playing Andi Weimann on the left side of midfield is in anyway motivating for him. Surely by making a statement to him that "Andi you're in great form at the moment, I really think you could be the man to play something out of this superb Man Utd defence because you have the movement and ability to trouble them". Instead he's simply said through his selection - "Andi you're not good enough". Probably wouldn't have made any difference today but we have ended up with a player who walked a little bit taller when we play our next game. I really don't understand what McLeish is doing at the moment.
Matt B
Gabby should hang his head in shame for performances like that time the guy doesn't start his record is just embarrassing !
Homeandaway
Give him one from me Voice !
villan57
Look at that squad, he could have played an experienced first 11 if he wanted to, in fact in the most part he did, yet he is creating this "kids" excuse. ***** OFF MCLEISH!!!
lerneravfc
USing the kids as his eckscuse is a joke, when he had a fully fit team we were stil *****e, the man is negative boring and frankly STUPID, weimann is our only natural goalscorer and he plays him on the wing??? what is this fool at seriously??? Gabby didn't have the best game for sure but ffs how can anybody have a good game up from on his own with anoher stricker and a center midfielder as his supply from the wings??? he is not onlt ruining our club at the present but ruining our future too as the young lads will only get worse playing for this idiot, carruthers looked good when he came on but there is zero movement off the ball from anybody in the team except ireland but when he gets the ball nobody is available, McLoser out please for the good of the club the youngsters my health and my hair!!!
KerryVillian
People may disagree with my comment but, Bannan is absolutely s**** he cant make a simple pass without losing possession. Yes he may have the eye for a long ball but Collins does that. I remember reading a while back about how Bannan felt MON would never give him the chance to play 1st team, because of his build as a player in which, as we've seen today can easily be shrugged off the ball. Martin is right Barry isnt a premier league player and especially doesnt deserve to start a game he's crap. UTV MCLEISH OUT
Carew AV Legned
No he's not. 2 great crosses that couldn't be finished, plus the ball over the top that just needed a touch more on it. Plus all the work he does covering Hutton. Just because a player shows an eye for a pass and it doesn't come off 100% of the time doesn't make them *****. You mention his build, but he gets stuck in perfectly during games. Maybe if he was central he could dictate more.
mike_field
I'm with you RE: Bannan Carew AV legend. Nzogbia is a proper winger but Eck plays Bannan to help Hutton with his defensive duties as he's not good enough either (and Eck just likes to have everyone defending. ( at 1 point Wiemann had the ball but no-one was near him when he wanted to pass to as they were all camped on the edge of our area, we were already 2 or 3 nil down!!) He's not a winger anyway. Only place for him is in a 3 man midfield but we've got better and he's too small and weak. Eck has favourites. Bannan will never make it in the prem.
Villan444
Bannan won't make it in the prem, he will find himself in the championship in a few years. Gordon losing 4-0 and you are find positives?? Wake up mate, yes we have some good youth coming through but there's no positives in today or in this whole season, it's been a complete disaster and I agree we are the worse team in the prem at the moment. Eck's days are numbered. Voice I'm in Australia now but if I was there I'd be at the ground with you buddy, make sure you say your representing many many many overseas fans with your protest at Eck, we are all there with you. Tick tick tick... Only matter of time until we get our club back now boys
AdzVilla11
Bannan - NEVER a prem player, he's just not big enough or good enough and makes wrong decisions, people may put it down to his age but he's 22 now - not a kid anymore. I also reckon gardner's progress is going backwards too - if i was carruthers i'd get the eck out of there!
griffgriff
Pathetic surrender. Can't believe how many games we've had like this in this season. I think a 5-man midfield on paper was probably the right tactics, but to get them to sit on your own penalty box and not actually bother to press the opposition. Also classic mistakes - Gabby on the wing again?? Hutton over Lichaj? N'Zogbia - your own 10m winger on the bench????? Look at waynr rooneys goal - all our players are standing on the edge of the box in a nice neat line - embarassing. Baker had a howler. All the muppet could say afterwards was how great Utd are, and how compared to them we are nothing. The clown doesn't have a clue! Out NOW.
thorpyuk
Gordon - sorry, but i nearly fell out of my chair when i read your comment. Look for positives when we've been hammered 4-0 with players out of position, camping on our own edge-of-the-area, and Heskey still gets game time??? Gabby on the wing?? N'Zogbia on the bench??? Sorry, but even when i look objectively, the only positive i can think is maybe that our youngsters got some game time. Seriously - what positives are there? I do find it admirable that you try and be positive - sometimes i wish i could be a bit more positive myself, but sometimes surely it can just be a stubbornness to look facts in the face??!
thorpyuk
glb - I always look for positives. I am so one eyed it is untrue. My many years of several season tickets, as a shareholder, as a sponsor of games, as helping the club in an unpaid role means I, and many other Villans have done our bit for the club. The positives are that some kids got good experience, because you learn more from defeat than from winning. Unfortunately with this Manager in charge they will be learning lots every game, because there will be many more defeats than wins. We kept Manure down to just 4 despite them having 17 shots on target. We never conceded from a corner. We are a match closer to McMuppet leaving our club and my understanding from within the club is that an exit strategy is in place. Can you educate all of us with any other positives that you managed to take from yesterday please?
voiceoftheholte
Try as we might to be positive about our great club, this capitulation and the excuses for it is an all time low even for the Tartan Turncoat, who is slowly turning this squad into a bunch of headless chickens with no idea how to defend or attack because they have a manager can't even pick them in the right positions never mind play them in a tactical formation. Kids? do us a favour, Alex Mc Muppet, and go home to your own. Wigan players put in a performance of pride and quality, beating United fair and square with a great game plan and a manager who could motivate his players. Villa were a shambles, stood off Scholes and let him play, Valencia ran riot against an inexperienced Right Back at Left Back, Young got a 9.5 and a penalty, and nobody would have needed a crystal ball to see any of that coming. Admittedly, we have lost the spine of our team with Dunne Petrov and Bent missing, but if we don't beat Sunderland or Bolton or both, I fear the quality young players wont be able to save us from the drop and will be blamed wrongly for our demise by their ECK-SCUSE of a boss. Give them PL experience when we are safe, not experience of the Championship when we're not.
Madirish
Lets not kid ourselves even had we had all three of them Madirish the result would probably have been the same. only difference would be Dunne would have given away the pen. Bent looks like a fish out of water playing to these tactics. I didnt expect anything else than what we got , just hate to see these youngsters all being played at the same time ruining their self belief by being used as cannon fodder and then used as an excuse for why we arent able to hold out against other teams.
