Sounded like we was getting pumped but fair play to the young lads for sticking it out for the point. Always welcome at Anfield even if L'pool are pooh at the moment!!! 2 wins should seal our premier league status.....

50-50% possession, I'd be amazed if that was true. They battered us. Thanks Shay Given, think your saves today have just kept us up in the PL.

Timssy you are probably right, 1 win and a draw will probably be enough with the goal difference but it would be good if they could just forget about relegation now and try to maximise the points from the last 7. With the right attitude it could be 4 wins to end the season from: Baggies, Stoke, Sunderland, Bolton and Norwich. Be good to see the younger players (some aren't kids anymore) find their feet and get some confidence/ experience ahead of next season.

A tad lucky to be honest but i think that was only because we were way too deep, inviting liverpool to attack us constantly...The youngsters did great again all of them, if they was allowed to play some good stuff today and go at Liverpool we might of got 3 points, the scouse looked quite nervy to me, they was their for the taking. Praying this anti football goes next season, i don't mind seeing it out until the end.

P.Avtc - take your point but Wigan were attacking Cheski until late in the game and look what happened to them. I'm happy with a point today.

Im going to think like Big Eck for once if we can get six draws from the seven matches left we will have reached the magic 40 points and safety. UTV

Gordon - I take your point but Wigan attacked Liverpool at Anfield and won? Both Chelsea's goals were offside, Wigan were apparently robbed today...Not saying teams would always win when they attack but it gives you a much better chance. I look at Wigan, Swansea etc football with respect, i look at ours with disgust.

Thought the kids did really well today. Well taken goal by Chris Herd, Must say, though Collins and Warnock were good and super Shay. Liverpool aren't as bad as some say, they're just having bad luck at the moment. To be fair, we played well, but we could of lost 3 or 4-1 if they had a bit more luck in front of goal....... just trying to give a balanced view and just to say we did do well.

Today is definately a bonus point for me wasn't expecting anything even tho Liverpool are poor at the minute. If we can just beat Stoke on monday.

To be fair we got away with murder there, but I thought Bannan, Herd, Lichaj, Collins and Given put in their best performances this season.

We should give the young uns more starts - played well against Chelski, should have got a point, did a job today and got one - thankfully everyone else lost - need Wolves and QPR to lose too Stokes a big game now obviously, but well within us...if we win that, and get some luck on other results, it might be as much as we need We need to throw caution to the wind against the Man Utds of this world - if we lose, no-one expected anything else so attack the ***** out of them

Considering both sides were managed by two survivors of the footballing Stone Age it was probably the appropriate result.

Glad to see Carruthers got a run out. Games like this make me feel conflicted. Want to see Villa win to stay up/want to always see Villa win. The paradox is every victory vindicates Randy Lerner's decision to stick with McLeish. It would appear that the best the club can hope for while McLeish is in charge is to not get relegated.

How can Carruthers have more votes for MOM than Warnock, Ireland and Lichaj? They all put in superb performances today and worked their wotsits off.

despite what people may think about Macleish I think there are possitive signs for the youngsters and quite frankly people should just get over the fact that we have/having a poor saeson and move on. We won't go down and hopefully we will improve.

Kids battled hard, Herdy took his goal well but we were very very lucky. Glad to get a point but on another day it could have been 5-1. All Eck can get players to do is battle and tackle when we get the ball the players are on their own, no direction

Good point AdzVilla11. Same with attacking and defending. F*** knows what they do on the training field??? No set plays, just chucking loads of bodies into an area and hope it works. Thankfully there is enough talent in the squad to get a result every now and again regardless of McNegativity and his good for nothing except instilling braveheart mentality into players attitude.

Poor tactics by McLeish again today, every time the tv switch to him he was ushering our players back.We should have gone for the throat in that game, should have lost about 4-1 (Thanks Shay).

A really brave effort by the youngsters. I don't believe young Carruthers got a yellow card when it was clearly a penalty. But can all you McDonut lovers now see why he's a total waste of space. He really does'nt have a plan. Whoops we've scored best get nine players behind the ball then & just hoof it up to Gabby & see what happens. Dicksplash!!!!!!!!

Carruthers looked a real prospect, based on the 5 seconds he got on MoTD. Took the p*** out of Gerrard. The kids look great, but this isn't the time or the way to blood kids - shouldn't be asking them to pull us out of a relegation dogfight. Someone on here said the other day we would go down either this season or next, can't help thinking they're right.
