I've noticed our new signing has been playing a big part in the reserves, is he any good?
Avfc94 we do
Stevens was decent..Lichaj was superb, especially in the first half...In fact Villa were awesome..full stop,,,Apart from the 'known players' Carruthers Robinson and Johnson all looked top class..there was a ten minute spell after half time when I actually thought I waas watching Barcelona...If you are disullushioned with the negativity of the 1st team get yourself down to watch these kids..A real priviledge..Scored four, one disallowed, hit woodwork four times and their keeper was brilliant, he had at least ten outstanding saves..Really enjoyable night

Great to hear - proper UTV to everyone that went! Wish I had the spare time but with family I can't.

Should be getting bigger attendances than the first team..... they deserve it. Well done again lads. On a side note, how does Newcastle fit into Reserve Premier SOUTH??? Lol
Pride of Lions
Straight swap, first team out, reserves in! Probably get hung out, but it would be entertaining football from players that enjoy playing and want to play for their club. And losing would not be a certainty for sure!

Gutted to miss this. Went to all next gens so am planning to do all the up comin reserve games at VP. Just landed back from the US on my hols so couldn't make it last night. For all those that want to protest against the first team head coach / manager, surely turning out in BIG numbers for the reserves would give a big signal. I'm not suggesting people don't attend the 1st XI matches for a second. Those NextGen games were certainly far more entertaining than the 1st XI have been recently at VP.

Pride of Lions..It is quite a good set up really...Their are eight teams in the North Division and eight in the South (our Division). We play the other 7 teams in South Home and Away (14 matches).. we also also play each of the teams in the North Division once giving a total number of matches of 22...The winners of the two divisions then each play a one off 'Cup-Final' which is often televised by Sky.. Villa are 9 points ahead of Albion who have two games in hand, but we have got to play Man United, Liverpool and Sunderland yet who are the top three in the North division (although Albion are also playing United tonight)..It is the only b****y chance of winning anything we have got for certain! A Geordie behind me last night said ' I thought we wetre supposed to be playing Aston Villa not Barcelona'. . Honestly, we were THAT good.

I think we should give KMAC another chance. Some fans lambast him as no good, but he only had 4 games, losing only 1, and winning 2. Admittedly the game he lost was a big defeat, but he then openly admitted he got the selection wrong, and we went on to win our next game against Everton. Would be 100 times the manager this useless burk we currently have is...
thorpyuk
Agree Thorpy, but KevMac said himself that he was not comfortable in the driving seat and it has a lot to do with confidence and knowing your limitations (to be successful that is) Unfortunately the current incumbent has no confidence and certainly hasn't got a clue about his limitations!!!
