almost had a heart attack in the last 3/4 mins of the game! ffs villa!
Tr1dent
the last few minutes were ridiculous haha. It's nice to win, but it was less than convincing! especially considering the opposition. Gabby played well when he came on, a lot more direct and intent on getting shots away than anybody else that was on the field first half. Albrighton played really well and Clark was very good too. Warnock was rubbish, and god knows what Dunne was playing at at the end there, every game the back 4 seem to be convincing me more more that we should just get rid of all of them!
Callum_ws
Warnock is quickly becoming (has become) a laughing stock and a liability. I don't usually like to criticise individuals but FFS. 90% of what he does is dreadful. Get Enda Stevens in ASAP. Why are we so boring to watch? We really should've buried them today
Adam Deuce
What looked like a comfortable performance quickly turned into an utter shambles at the end. Dunne and Warnock aren't fit to wear the shirt anymore. That said, all 3 Villa goals were great finishes. Bent looked frustrated though with morons repeatedly blasting the ball over/wide when he should've had simple tap ins. Steven Ireland looks sharp as hell. Overall - a mixed bag, but we're through somewhat unconvincingly.
olofthegreat
You've just got to laugh. At one point I saw McIdiot drawing question marks in the air whilst shouting at the team - what sort of tactical instruction is that? Clueless. And at the end I would have *****ed myself if they had scored the penalty.
RiF
Nice to win but with all due respect to Rovers they are one of the worst teams I've seen in years. Villa did the job but you wonder how that performance would have fared against a better side. Warnock for me has to be dropped / Sold / Banished / Shot....Still, we're through so we have to look on the bright side...
MASON_PARKER
A wins a win as they say, but equaly as is a poor footballer is a poor footballer@- Dunne, Warnock heskey and collins get rid and replace and we may do better, but good goals today and nice to see the kids score, how did Gardner play for the 15mins he came on for?
ClivetheVillan
Gardener didn't see too much of the ball, but had a decent shot on goal towards the end that forced a good save from the keeper.
Callum_ws
Nice to find we won, but again the performance seems the main talking point.....
Pride of Lions
3 goals and then we got lazy. Our back 4 need to go or change dramatically.
leftfoot
But was Gardener playing RB again?? Couldn't bring myself to watch it !!!!! Maybe a circus act would be better?? Could it get worse?? New poll!!!!
Villan444
Was I watching the same game !!! I thought we controlled the game through out on what was a dreadful pitch, the young lads played v.well, Dunne is and always will be an oaf, Big Brad as done very well in goal, not sure why we spent money on Given considering his injury record, need to start buying/bringing the good youngsters through, at least 5 in that team I hope won't be their next season, well done lads on what could've been a nightmare.
eltoro
Eltoro - the win was welcome and great to see 3 Villa home-grown goalscorers. But no disguising the poor passing for much of the game and Dunne was clearly too lazy to feel he needed to check behind him before the backpass. That speaks volumes for me about his interest and commitment.
JimmyG
Again completly disagree with McIdiots team selection I mean the guy has no balls at all, we were playing BRISTOL ROVERS not a prem team and we had basically our 1st team out and in the 1st half we looked like we belonged in leauge 2 ffs, Gardner should have been on from the start to give petrov a rest our new signging enda should have started cause he really couldn't do any worse than that tit warnock, Ireland played well again but he should have been rested and let Bannan or another youngster play and Bent might as well not be on the pitch AGAIN, should have played a youngseter Gabby changed the game when he came on just to prove how useless Heskey is but again Gabby should not have been risked in a game like this a youngster should have come on Weimann or Delfounso should heve been given a chance, this guy is so scared to lose its stupid you can see it rubs off on the players...
KerryVillian
That was as EASY win as you could have ffs...Poor for the first ten minutes and the last two...otherwise in total control...Granted very poor opposition...but the pitch was dreadful..A professional job with great encouragement in the performance of youngsters Albrighton and Clark and a little cameo from Gardner
krfeskivilla
KerryVillian...I am not a massive fan of AM but I think the critiscm of his team selection is totally out of order..We don't play again until Saturday...and could you imagine how much stick he would have got if he picked an in-experienced and lost? We HAD to win and we did..I agree that sooner rather than later Gardner should get a start..but his two cameo's against Chelsea and Rovers will only benefit his development...Critise the manager when justified, but surely not for putting out a strong team in the FA Cup?
krfeskivilla
Ah, krfeski - don't you know that's the trademark of a true Villa fan these days? You spend months complaining because previous managers don't field a strong team in cup competitions, and then you spend months complaining because the current manager does ...
BobTheBuilder
Well Bob you see the only manager I complained about fielding a weakened team was MON in the UEFA cup but that was because we stood a good chance of winning it and were playing against a STRONG team, GH last year played a waekened team and I thought it was the correct decision as we needed to concentrate on the leauge and I was prob the only FAN of GH because he was a manager that could bring us up a few steps even if every other Villa fan could only see the results and him touchingn the Liverpool crest, and krfeskivilla I do agree it was a must win game for McIdiot and we don't play until next saturday but the players put out played a lot of games recently and the pitch was bad which can lead to injuries, luckily it was Heskey who got injuried and nobody important, and im not saying field all younsters I meant a mix cuase I do not believe we need to field our 1st team against leauge 2 strugglers, Hutton Dunne Collins Stevens back 4 Albie Gardner Delph Bannan Mid 4 and Heskey Delfounso front 2 should have been strong enough to beat themor even swapping Stevens for Clark, if you don't agree thats fair enough thats your opinion I respect it as much as any other Villa fan except the fans that complain about other fans opinions....Bob didn't see how you felt about the game but I presume you were happy with it until the next game we lose when you will be jumping on McIdiots back too but sorry for me it takes more than 1 win against very low opposition and even the win aghainst Chelsea I "complained"about McIdiot because im not so fickle for 1 game to change my mind as football is a season long game...
KerryVillian
Thought the opposite Kerry. Didn't mind MON getting us out of the Uefa as we could/should have got top 4 in the prem and the waifa is worthless. GH was away with the fairies trying to get us to play like barca overnight. Anyway it's a results business. The win comes first then you get to the fancy football in due course. Man city last year was embarrassing as it was just another game down the road and we didn't need to travel thousands of miles to tire us out. I'm with you on the not being fickle bit. Don't like Eck whether he flukes the occasional win or not. He's not and never will be good enough
Villan444
Agree 444 if MON got us to champ leauge I prob would never mention the UEFA but really believe GH should have been given more respect from fans, this fool we have now gets more respect and his results aren't much better and at least with GH we played attractive football, it wasn't his fault the players couldn't step up but correct it is a results business and it took a long time to get results but you have to admit towards the end we got the results and played better football than any team outside the top 4 its all about opinions but im happy you can agree McIdiot will never be good enough for Villa.
KerryVillian
Warnock and Dunne were awful! Boring game from two boring teams!
Timmsy
Sorry Kerry - my post wasn't aimed at you at all - I was just amused at McLeish being criticised for NOT playing a weakened team ...
BobTheBuilder
plenty of posession, but no penetration.
