TO NOT SCORE AGAINST SWANSEA FREAKIN' CITY IN 180 MINUTES OF FOOTBALL IS THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING I HAVE EVER WITNESSED AS AN ASTON VILLA SUPPORTER. That is all.
olofthegreat
14 Corners!!!! Quality, why aren't we getting shots in from them??????
Villan444
I dont understand why Eck changes the lineup so much... Has he ever kept the same 11 two games in a row... Has he even played the same team in two games at any point in the season...
Astriel
I don't have a *****in clue what to write.
eltoro
TWO shots on target at home in 90 minutes???!!! Forget about the "flash in the pan" against Chelsea, this idiot has got to go....GO NOW! If he doesn't, this TURD will take us down, mark my words. He is totally and utterly tactically inept.
Pride of Lions
Warnock can be relied on to make these kind of howlers every game. And though he gets plaudits for last ditch tackles is that really because he is often out of position and so has to dive in at the death? His passing is poor too. A liability. That doesn't excuse the rest of the team but it certainly doesn't help when you gift teams early goals.
JimmyG
Agree JimmyG. The bloke goes forward too far and gives away possession half the time. Cuellar looked knackered because he had to cover for him so much the other day as they all moved across.
Villan444
Think that Eck was right to rotate a bit and maybe a bit more BUT you always knew that he was going to bring on his Brethren, Hutton and Bannan who just aren't good enough. Heskey must be still injured or he would've got a run out surely. Eck OUT, the result on New Year's Eve papered over the cracks.
Villan444
I have nothing to add.

McClueless out
fulford
Hated Mcleish all season...Turned a little after Arsenal/Chelsea game as he gave promising football which is all i ask as well as results. Today proved that we still have work to do and there is still problems that need addressing but still feel we will get better...Not going to keep crying and throwing my dummy out of the pram every time we lose a game, it's stressful enough!
P.Avfc
As you were, lads. Was Chelsea a blip? I think so. AM is dying to get Hutton involved again, isn't he? Can't we have Swansea's manager instead? If we can't spend, at least we'd have someone who likes the passing game.
Windy Villain
Mcleish out. Totally effing useless. We are totally ruined with this muppet, and I won't defend Lerner anymore; he is cluuuuuuuuueless.
Stig
Normal order restored!
revolutionatlast
Cuellar went of with a knock windy i think and Hutton was more of a threat down the right when he came on...The first mistake from *****ty Warnock killed the first half, totally stunned and killed the team, exactly the same happened second half.
P.Avfc
In my last couple of posts I praised McLeish and Warnock. I am now stunned into silence. We didn't just lose we were outplayed.
piperuk
Lol how quickly the tide changes, so many ppl praising ECK after the Chelsea game when anyone with half a brain could see it was nothing to do with him and everything to do with Chelsea being so poor and Ireland having the game of his life, Villa fans say Bent must go, im sorry but ECK must go!!! we were letting swansea get into our half way too easy we should have been pressing much higher up the field and didn't start doing that until about 10 mins to go and Ireland was playing well again today and ECK took him off when we were 2-0 down, the man simply hasn't got a clue but I plead with the fans here stop changing your mind every 2 games because 1 good result in 5 matchs should not be good enough, I still said after the Chelsea game I want ECK out and still will until he is gone the players and we the fans deserve better.
KerryVillian
Warnock is useless...and I've said this time and time again...even against Chelsea he was failing to close players down...we need a new left back...and about a dozen other players too...I like McLeish as a man. he seems a nice guy, but I'm sorry he is poor tactically and it seems he can not motivate players. Time to collect your P45 mate !
MASON_PARKER
and at the moment I see warnock has almost %50 for MOTM, surly fans mean MOTM for Swans cause he didn't help us 1 bit today and should have been taken off.
KerryVillian
Some you win some you lose. A good day for Villa at Chelsea or a bad day for them - no doubt a bit of both. The crying out loud disaster is that on our bad days we are not just off colour and beaten on the break by a team that takes its chances - no, we are totally out-footballed. When we lose against most teams outside the Big 6 we should at least be at the races. It is not about a Plan B, there should be a Plan A, B, C & D as the match unfurls and keep trying and changing things until we assert ourselves. To have 90 minutes to come back, and never be able to assert ourselves is an indictment of Ecks inability to change things, and get the players to respond whenever things are running away from us. He is no tactician, and as said so many times already he not only has no Plan B, but no clear Plan A.
stennyvilla
How is warnock at 41% MotM?? He played terribly and was 100% at fault for the first goal!!! McCleish out!
soccer15
4 home defeats on the trot !! someone tell me the last time that was acheived
marshyboy87
1999 according to my feed marshyboy87!!! ECK + FAULKNER (ginger mafia) OUT
Villan444
Awful performance. Why did we lose the passion from the recent games? Two bad blows one at the start of each half and we couldn't cope. Warnock and Guzan to blame directly but the rest weren't great. Dunny lost the plot, Stan was clearly frustrated, Gabby looked pee'd off because he was back on the wing and to be honest Ireland was por after a bright start. However whilst we are moaning, credit Swans, they worked hard and could have had more. Just goes to show money need not be the barrier to success that its often made out to be. How much did that Swansea team cost? The same or less than a certain D Bent who loooks dissinterested when he has to work a bit.
Gordonsleftboot
Debated starting X1, but decided that the team put out should be good enough to get a result against a team that has not won away...Warnock caused us a nightmare giving the ball away & undoes you before you start...But what worries me is that with still 85 mins to go we didnt know how to deal with it apart from an average 20 mins after their goal...we never look dangerous on set pieces and never seem to pick up lose/second balls in and around the area, players decision making is awful and why is it every Gk that comes here has an easy afternoon, we never shoot or work the gk...Eck I feel did not change things when it was clear we had no idea and were just playing with little direction and when he did I thought he got it totally wrong and too late...Make no mistake, that was another very worrying performance, 4 straight home losses and only 1 goal scored.....!
marcobavfc
If you weren't there, trust me, they played us off the pitch. Embarrassing. If it wasn't so sad, I'd laugh.
The Fear
Fear, no way half of the posters above were there or anywhere near VP all season. We were crap today full stop, no passion or energy reflecting the manager's choice of tactics to sit back and defend deep rather than pressing like we did against arsenal and chelsea. But reading the tosh above. Warnock made a big howler and his confidence looked shot but he still played a big role in the very few positive things we did and was one of the only players wiling to run off the ball. The other was Ireland who was again the only player who looked like he had a clue, the desire to move or the first touch to bring the ball under control. Bent worked hard but was left isolated as the team dropped deep and Gabby looked *****ed off and wasted wide right. Nzogbia was totally anonymous and should have been replaced by Albie after 20 minutes. He wasted more possession than any other player on teh pitch and looked like Downing in his first season. As for the Hiutton sub. I can't abide Hutton but anyone who was actually there would have seen that Cuellar signalled to the bench to be taken off three times before they eventually subbed him and as the only other defender on the bench Hutton was the only choice to bring on. And before anyone acuses me of being a Mcleish sympathiser, I can't stand Mc Muppet and think he's the worst manager we've had since McNeil.
AVbornandbred
bornANinbred, so humble yet again. Of course only you can be right and no-one else watch's the games?!?!?!?! Thanks for the mini match report, don't give up the day job....
Villan444
444 - why are you still on here, thought you'd be supporting sunderland by now. If you can call not going to games and just whinging and moaning supporting. Never said no-one else went to the game only plastic fans like you who couldn't find villa park with a map and a sat nav but still feel justified in spouting garbage based on what you hear on the radio / sky sports. Jog on you sad little twerp.
AVbornandbred
oh and to be clear, before any fans who can't afford to go or who live stupid distances away take offence I don't question your level of support - just certain individuals
AVbornandbred
I just had a feeling we'd lose. Chelsea away, no matter how crap they are at the moment, still put us under the cosh and we had our best chances on the break. Swansea were always going to outplay us on the ground and with the added pressure of needing to dominate more and attack more at home it just proved too much. It didn't help with McLeish's selection though. Gabby is not a winger and 451 isn't acceptable at home. Maybe Stan needed a rest with Ireland and Clark centre mid, Albrighton and Nzogbia on the wings and DB and Gabby up top. Still, that would have been a gamble and we know how the manager feels about those.
Rawlie
well I'm a true villan cos I have a claret n blue tea cosy!!
eltoro
What the Eck was that! To make it worse I went to the game with a Swans supporter....
