At least Joey Barton will shave his 'tash' off now!

Picked the wromg team. Needed a more solid midfield Reo from the start maybe and Albrighton needed a rest after two first team goals. But Heskey on the wing? First 2 goals were lucky and knocked the stuffing out but we have to tighten up. MON's leaving was felt today - and the lack of transfer activity due to the change is going to screw the season. What are the alternatives in the squad?
Gordonsleftboot
lets see if we hear from "the best thing to happen to us mon leaving us" brigade, that was *****in pathetic, clueless, k mac for manager, you have to be *****in joking, like i said before, all you *****in idiots that think MON leaving is a good thing, can now shut your idioctic mouths for good.
eltoro
What happened? it was like a completely different game plan to the westham game. The amount of times we got caught in possession was unbelievable. There is surely not much difference to the Newcastle team and the Westham team so why from 3-0 to 6-0 is unbelievable. I say still give Macdonald a fair chance. Just as some fans said you cant judge him just on the westham games you also cant judge him just on this one game either. Or maybe he really doesn't want the job as that was how the team played.
revua
gordonsleftboot, do you really mean their 1st goal was lucky! did u see the game
eltoro
eltoro - MON leaving was a good thing, so no, I will not shut my mouth thanks.
olofthegreat
Are u Wigan in disguise?
Mix26
I think the players really let K-mac down. Will be interesting to see what happens now! Carew was a disgrace! My only problem with the starting line up was ireland starting the game. As he hasnt played in ages i would have put on Reo. Cant complain about the line up, more about the performance. I hate to say it, Heskey won most things on the air when he came on. What did Carew do?
AndyFC
got to give the young players time... got to give Ireland time to get match fit etc... excuses for our senior players? No, I don't have any for them.
That was awful. Agree Andy, again Carew let us all down.
The Fear
I agree Eltoro.....not like we played like that regularly under Monny was it PMSL No we never lost a match by more than a goal previously.
mike_field
2 chances all game? dear me
eye_nose_hat
Eltoro - yes I did unfortunately. The first was a hit and hope against the run of play. The second was a better reaction follow up from Nolan - so yes I did watch. I have also seen your beloved MON through his toys out of the pram and walk away like a prima donna. Get real he is now history and times are moving on. Living in the past will gain nothing.
Gordonsleftboot
Urm ELTORO did we not lose 7 against chelsea with MON, afterall its mostly his team, i think calm and a cup of tea over a nice chat tomorrow should sort it out :)
andy3221
chelsea thats word CHELSEA
eltoro
I think we can judge McDonald on this performance. I know we have first team regulars missing and so a defeat shouldn't be a surprise, but shipping 6 goals and having no response to an average (at best) team is setting my spidey sense off. We need a new guy with a rep or this season will be a write off.
Rawlie
(apologies, vitalfootballadmin was me, should be under The Fear..)
The Fear
btw a very good stricker that is on form that could be of some use to villa! guan:Ghana international, his club is SRFC in the ligue 1 (French league)
Avfc94 we do
I mean Gyan...bloody auto spell check on iPod!
Avfc94 we do
bloody hell, John Carew's penalty just landed in my back garden! :(
The Fear
well if family guy did an episode of this loss or southpark it would be worth watching the match tbh
Avfc94 we do
eltoro take a chill pill man, we lost 6-0 to chelsea under o'neil theres no excuses for any result like that, No need to take it our on fellow supporters. Bit stupid to bad mouth the admins aswell. I reckon the manager position will be sorted this week also.
P.Avfc
I take it all back - City got the better end of the deal! Good luck with Ireland and the rest of the season boys!
eighthsin
Are John Carew and Chris Waddle blood relatives? Waddle's penalty (circa Turin 1990), is on target to land on Easter Island a few months from now!
VillaWillRiseAgain
In all fairness, Chris waddle is exactly the type of creative player the Villa need right now. Carew is a passenger. Forget all that 'fans favourite' stuff.
VillaWillRiseAgain
1 question fellas, as somebody who never got to watch the game. Were Villa REALLY that bad OR should a bit of credit perhaps go to Newcastle for a good performance?? An honest question, not a dig in any way..
coopsieyid
SOME OF YOU CAME ON SPURS TALK SAYING STOKE WAS GONNA KILL US OFF AND YOUNG BOYS WILL KNOCK US OUT.....CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR AND WHEN YOU DIG ONE HOLE DIG TWO.....U LOT KNOW YOURSELVES AS THIS ONLY GOES FOR YOU
rovinella62spurs
Bit of both coopsie, same as us last week v West Ham. rovinella please turn off your caps lock mate.
The Fear
@fear...sorry mate..not really having a go except for those who prayed bad prayers for us.....dont really like newcastle .....think oneil knew why he wanted keane
rovinella62spurs
I think this result has got to wake Lerner from his slumber and not just drag this transfer window out so he doesn't have to spend any money.Personally, i don't think martin left us in the cart, he just wanted to take us further and unfortunately lerner has drew a line in the sand and is not prepared to go the extra step. Doe's anybody seriously think we'd of got stuffed by the geordies if he was still in charge. Yes, i know chelsea did us big time but newcastle are not chelsea. Whoever takes over please please get rid of carew. The bloke doe's not move, his touch is awful and is so overated. Why some fans kiss his arse so much is beyond me.
SidGodSid
no worries dude! Yup, if some of our lot have given out banter, we have to take it back! Just a crap day at the office though really! lol
The Fear
SidGodSid is right Lerner is dragging his feet so he doesn't spend any money I feel. there's ambition for you!
claretandbluearmy
Was that Juve in disguise? Gobsmacked doesn't even come close.
Madirish
@sid...no way oneil would have gotten six from newcastle mate....chelsea yes ...different kettle of fish...newly promoted ncastle ....NO WAY.....oh and @fear...i hate these american owners....should stick to theirs
rovinella62spurs
Didn't get to see any of the game but that looks like and extremely lightweight MF. Most of us said that you can't replace Milner directly with Ireland, Milner is a way better defensive player, besides, I'm pretty sure that Ireland can't be up to speed, he's barely played a match during the last year.
villan of the north
I think this result screams out for 4-5-1 with the defence as it is (maybe try cuellar at RB again on this one though lol), but i'd have petrov / coker / ireland in the centre, with young / albrighton on the flank, and gabby on his own up-front. Use Carew at villa park where he sometimes turns up... his away performances suck lol
