Puts us nicely back into a prime position for the Europa League next season and puts us back within hope of maybe a Top 4 spot although sadly it's still for others to lose rather than us to win.

Not a great game by any stretch of the imagination. Hull weren't really out of it until our second goal, and the sad thing is we should've put the game beyond their hope long before they got back into it and caused us problems.

That said though it was a decent performance and there's plenty of things to be happy about tonight - not least the 3 points we desperately needed. Time to enjoy it and look forward to the weekend I think.

I've never seen John Carew move so fast....!!!!

even id say that it is very unlikely that we will get 4th but i do think we are on track for getting fifth which would be an improvement from last season and it would mean that we'd propably need to beat city and if we do that or get a draw with them they wont make top 4 which means that we will probably be able to have a crack at top 4 next season because they wont have the pull of top 4 so wont be able to bring in those top quality players :)

Carew has never moved so fast....well...not since the rocket club when the dances were on offer....

I was responding to RiF, but forgot to put it in post.

Yid_from_India - the key word in your statement is IF. There are still if's for all teams, so until it's a mathematical impossibility we are definitely in with a chance!

So, revdpete, exactly how does this 'rooting and tooting from the pulpit' go? Hymns from the Villa hymn book? I know that to some people football is a religion, but surely not religion is football? An answer from the archbishop please. ;-)

Hull are doomed I tell you - feckin doomed!
