Well that was different. Pre season friendly pace, and the fun from our previous games with crossing etc.

However, well done Delfouneso for his first (of many I hope) Premiership goals. A nice 3 points in our Top 6 fight, so should be a reasonably happy day for all.

Nice to see a win but sick of those annoying Pompey Drums and Bells .. Had to turn the volume down after a while .. wont miss them next year .. pity cos Pompey fans are usually good people .(just annoying)

A lot of decent passing but too close for comfort. Moved above LIverpool and that is the least we should settle for this season.

Pre season friendly pace ? ridiculous comment .Our crossing was poor all day One decent cross and Gabby missed a sitter. But such was our dominance a goal was surely going to come.

Villa's inability to kill teams off almost realised by our lack of goal scoring power....some new strikers in the close season please. Heskey out (anywhere please!), Carew on the bench, the Fonz needs more time to mature, well done for the winner though!

lol Doug4ever, have to agree, the bell especially kills me! Think it gets on the nerves of a lot of pompey fans as well to be fair!

Thought the game was sort of entertaining but it was a bizarre one, certainly at times looked like a pre-season type thing, the space Carew had for his goal was astonishing! The points are all that matters though, keeps those below us a bit of a distance and sends Liverpool out of European contention for now!

Might put a bet on Liverpool to win then we will be guaranteed to stay above them .

By the way can anyone explain to me how we never had a pen in the first half when Gabby was wrestled to the ground.Has he upset referees or something ?

GAbby has had affairs with all the ref's wives, true story... hence no penalty decisions!

Great end result... keeps us in the hunt. I thought Warnock was particularly poor today however... some bloody awful passes! Great goal by Carew, shame about the misses :s Nice to see young Nathan score too, that'll relieve a bit of pressure to get his 1st premier league goal.

thorpyuk Me and my son were counting Warnocks shocking passes we counted 7 then gave up .. Thats at least 7 moves that were halted by his terrible passing which is becoming a regular part of his game lately .
