Ouch. Apparently our worst defeat since 1964. I did not see that one coming.

Hopefully this will be the catalyst for change,he`s a decent figurehead and i love how passionate he is on the side although i`d like him to be more judgemental and overview games to make rational decisions. Coaching needs looking at and although i`ve been saying that for years only when you hit the bottom do you sometimes evaluate your methods. So i hope today does that to MON.

this could be the start of something awful or fantastic..

Those of you who back Mr O'Neil are as much to blame for this as he is, this has been coming, progress my a*se, the players are tired and only one person to blame for this

O Neill OUT! This is his fault 100%. Why buy players then leave them on the bench? The midfield is tired...ahhh diddums....then why not play Delph who had a stormer against Man Utd? Gabby still clearly unfit so why not play the Fonz from the start? NEGATIVE ATTITUDE, NEGATIVE MANAGER. 120 MILLION TO GET BEAT 7-1

O'Neill out? Piper Uk and Ant1, you boys should hang your heads in shame. No doubt you are the those that boo when we merely draw at home. Remember this. This is why we follow football. Good & bad, thick & thin. Is this any worse than when got d!cked by Coventry? Not for me it's not. We'll be back. Hopefully in 2 weeks time, and if we are, no doubt you'll be celebrating with the rest of us. If you can name someone better that will come and do the job, then let's have it. If you think you have more tactical knowledge than MON, then I suggest you stop masterbating & move out of your mom's spare room and stop playing champ manager.

tebor1978, never booed, never made a personal comment about a fellow poster, so who is the child now, never played champ manager either, don't like computer football games, prefer to play, I want us to win yes, well done for getting that right, we have been awful for ages, i'd like to do something about it before we finish below Blues, so yes i'm angry, and to use your sentiment, yes you will be joining us in being angry and wanting a change when we do finish 9th

PiperUk: how much have chelsea spent im sure it more than doubles that figure, m8 we didn't really play that badly it's just one of those matches where every chance the opposition get's seems to go into the back of the net, i think on another day playing the way we did with the referee not giving stupid decisions we would have win that or at least drawn it, it's not the end of the world, i think this game is exactly like the game against liverpool we played better than them until they had two or three goals but they were in a bit of form and playing really well with confidence which ment they scored basically every chance they had, anyway weve got bolton next which is a great opportunity to get our confidence back and get our goal difference up before we go to wembley!!! which i guarantee wont be as big a scoreline as this. Can't all u people who are against Mon and have to share your views and say why he is rubbish please moan at the end of the season not just after a bad game i mean i never see any of u moaning after we win, at least support the team and the manager until the end of the season instead of booing them so we can play better and get better results, maybe if u got behind the team villa would really surprise you

I apologise Ant, I'm as pi$$ed off as evryone else. I'm the first to admit that MON is far from infallible, but if we keep slagging the bloke off, then realistically, who are we going to get that's any better? You haven't answered this. There are plenty of clubs out there that would be more than grateful for MON's services, as we were in 2006. Be careful what you wish for.
tebor1978
I'd like to think this will be a wake up call...but sadly I see another mauling from Chelsea coming up....okay it wont be 7...but it could well be 3 or 4...at the end of the day we just aren't good enough...and rotation aint gonna help, coz the sideline players are no better...but I still love Villa....through thick and thin...best club in the world....always have been, always will be,,,

No worries, tebor, it is an angry night for all of us, I was thrilled when we got MON, this lasted 3 years, but we have not progressed at all for a year now, the cup draws were kind to us, and we will finish at best 8th, to answer your question, Martin Jol, Roy Hodgson

Jol is a good shout, fair play. Whether he'd leave Ajax is another matter. Really don't think Roy Hodgson is a step forward though. I agree that we haven't moved forward. That's because we haven't replaced GB, and the whole downing thing, and moving Jimmy in to the middle hasn't worked any better than what we had before. I'd rather give MON the chance to put it right than take a gamble for the sake of changing. If we're no better in a years time then yes, maybe he's taken us as far as he can. Until then, keep the faith. Anyway, i'm off for a w@nk & play champ manager. Take it easy villains!

Simple - MON has had a number of years to build his team and get us to the top 4. He will fail this year do to problems everyone was aware of. Start looking for a new boss... Unacceptable..

Interesting stats - it would appear that Chelsea managed to score with 64% of their shots on target whilst Villa only managed 20%. Other than the scoreline the stats don't look too bad for Villa, did you really play as badly as the scoreline suggests? As a Mancity fan I'm obviously relieved that you failed to pick up points today, especially in light of our loss to Everton on Wednesday, but I wouldn't write off your chances just yet, as your run in is the easiest on paper. So it still remains open to any of the current top 7, and for what it's worth, most of us City fans would agree that if we can't have 4th then we'd like Villa to get it over spurs and liverpool any day!

If I hear the phrase 'this was just one of those days' again I'm going to smash my computer in. It wasn't just one of those days. This has been coming for a long time - Villa always let the opposition, whoever they are, play football. We are not mean, lean and hungry enough. Some of the performances this season have been pants - Reading, Liverpool at home, Spurs at home etc etc. This has been a long time coming.

Fellas, our team cost 89 million, not 240 million as some seemed to be suggesting... Anyway, chin up. You're my preferred choice for that 4th spot, and there are still a few games to be played. Pick yourselves up and win all the remaining games, except the one at wembley of course. :)

Guys, the team was knackered, full of niggling injuries, and played probably the best team in the premier league at the moment in form on their home patch. Don't lose faith yet, let's wait and see how they pick themselves up from this one against bolton

Thought Sidwell played well. Why haven't we seen the whole squad over the season. They would be up to speed and then MON couldn't blame tiredness

Masochistic I know...but i've watched the game over and over again....and to me its pretty obvious what went wrong....all of our players...and I mean all of 'em...were ball watching, every goal, instead of tracking Chelseas movements...I've seen kids play better...it must have just been one of those days....
