Fantastic individual performances as can be seen by a slight emphasis in the Man of the Match poll down on your bottom right, but 3 points were all that was of importance tonight and yet we still managed to do it by playing properly, and keeping the ball on the ground as opposed to hoofing it.

Job done - simple as, but Cuellar is still not a right back and I'm convinced Heskey doesn't NEED to be dragged on to fall over at every opportunity.

Good Job! Delfouneso and Delph should of played, Dont care now aslong as we got 3points. They should start against Hull, Wolvas next, another must win. Cudnt belive we had the hole team in deffence!!

Good win. Much needed. Still hanging in there despite being under pressure of having to play catchup with the others all a few games and points ahead. Hopefully the squad may be rotated a little for the next 2 home games.

Thought it was interesting that Skysports accidentally listed the result under 'champions league' as opposed to premier league. A sign of things to come maybe? :D Credit to MON for starting Carew... thank pete Heskey didn't get much game time!!

Milner!!!!!! Awesome display and worthy of all the plaudits. Another win against wolves will keep us in the chase so this was all that we needed even if it wasn't our best keep ball display! At 65mins we should have brought on Delph for Petrov and Delboy for Gabby as both were v tired and yet on trots the ginger ninja and hesk??

Textbook away performance, Milner was just phenomenal, his 60 yard sprint in the 93rd min just summed the attitude of the lad up. Just like to say how amazing our support was last night too, must have been well over 4k on a Tuesday night, proud to be a Villain last night!

It is significant that, once again, the strikers failed to find the net and it was left to a fortuitous o.g. and a midfielder to do the scoring. For all his talk of ringing the changes MON still sits with the "tired" and tested instead of giving Delf, Delph and Albrighton a chance. If O'Dreary had followed the same princples Gabby would still be in the reserves. I can see all three leaving Villa to find regular games with teams willing to give them a chance. Sadly, it looks as if it will not be at Villa.

Entertaiing, enjoyable game, in which Wigan played their full part. Four points from two tricky away games inside four days is not a bad return in my book. Good teram performance, each player gave his all and played a full part, but obviously James Milner was the star of the show. Were the two offside decisions that ruled out two early goals correct? Us being up the other end, it was somewhat difficult to tell, although the non-reaction of the Villa players suggested that Bennett had called it right. About the only two decisions him and his assistants did get right throughout the course of the game.

Well played lads! Carew played well, Milner was outstanding and the rest of the team pretty solid, a couple of wayward passes from Warnock but some great tackles to make up for it.. You have to wonder how long these same players can keep putting performances like this in.. I hope he doesnt start Sidders on saturday.. Im still fuming from the stupid pen he gave away at Wolves earlier in the season.. L.Young is unlucky not to be in the team but when the defence is playing so well I wouldnt change it around.. at some point he will get his chance..

For the life of me I cannot understand how after a win last night and an all round professional performance (one which pundits and even commentators on sky said was a entertaining game) there are still some negative (and some still havinga pop at MON) comments. Long may it continue that MON AND PLAYERS keep proving the naysayers wrong. Just my opinion and let the flak commence

I went to last night's game and to Stoke and I still found it yet another knife-edge struggle, with Villa failing to impose themselves and control the middle of the park in the way I would want to. End to end entertaining more open game than Stoke is one way of looking at it, but the ball was given away far too often by both teams and I am with Obediah in terms of I cannot believe a couple of changes to bring on Albrighton, Delph or the Fonz is not worth a go as well as the right back stonewall selection change. Many good points I know, but I want Villa to be imperious just now and again - but every game tears my nerves to shreds. Villa games for me are often endured rather than enjoyed, until the final whistle!
