Erm, no not today. I think I'll keep my thoughts to myself like Monny keeps his favourites on the pitch and players who could potentially offer us something different on the bench.

Gardner scored for the scum but we play Heskey who couldn't ***** on himself in a strong wind for 90 mins .

tough game, poor conditions, was always going to be difficult. Shame we can't put two 45 mins the same out each game though, first half we were fine and passing the ball nicely. Still, not a disaster, just not really going to help our league position much.

7 league games without defeats, including 5 clean sheets. However, four of those were 0-0 draws. If we just had someone who knew where the net was. Darren Bent has 18 league goals in a struggling Sunderland team. Agbonlahor, Carew and Heskey have 18 league goals combined. All the talk of goalscorers being hard to find and we miss out on an obvious one with a track record.

still no prem win in march then lets hope we can do it next week
one match ban
I'm starting to believe albarnista , I've been a big Mon fan but he's making it very hard to have faith in him when he plays his old chum Heskey who has proven time and time again that he cant cut it for us at this level . Mon is too narrow minded and predictable , the opposition know his tactics the same as most of us do . There were 4 of us watching the game at my place and we all said Gabby would come on in place of Carew and he did . He will never pull off a match winning masterstroke during a game . Play a right back at right back ffs . Stop waiting for Heskey to finally prove you were right about him because he wont ffs , and if one more person tells me about what Heskey brings to the table i will ***** myself and rub it on the walls .
Doug4ever
Heskey brings a lot to the table.

Doug4ever, what did you want MON to do today for ***** sake? We have the meanest defence in the league, and that is with cuellar at right back, you dont change a defence that concedes the least goals because Cueller doesnt fit the tag of a "right back". He didnt start Gabby as he was obviously not 100% fit from his illness. Did Carew do anything way and above what Heskey did? no! Im not a heskey fan and would love nothing more than carew and gabby to play every game and score bags of goals but thats not the reality, we also dont have Darren Bent. Stop your moaning and have a little reflection on the season so far will you

i am happy with the season so far but i think it is becoming pretty obvious we need to start scoring goals....yeah we got 5 against Burnley,etc... but its in these kind of games that something different has to happen... throw Delfouneso and Delph on....... roll the dice a little MON....

pauled177 Last night i was P'ed off with Mon giving ammunition to those horrible spuds , still am because we were toothless and boring , Stoke played better than us and looked more dangerous , when we needed an inspirational change what did Mon do .. The usual ..but i will get over it . We may have the meanest defence in the league but does that mean we shouldn't put our best team out .. You said yourself on another page about Carlos "He obviously isnt the best going forward and his distribution is often horrendous " but Luke Young is great going forward and Carlos is like a rock at centre half .. if you think Heskey should be picked then that is your opinion and good luck to you .. but my personal opinion is he is about as much use as a wet fart and Carew is our best striker at the moment . Even though some of you dont like it Carew is scoring goals .. Heskey isnt . If i was manager i would be bleeding in Delf and Delph and i think that if the Fonz was brought in at the start of the season we wouldn't be having this discussion because Delfouneso and Gabby would be banging in heaps of goals by now .

Collins and Dunne were great yesterday and warnock made some fantastic tackles , i think we should rotate Cuellar , Dunne and Collins and play Luke Young who imo is a better player than glen johnson and giving Habib Beye a game occasionally . Habib is going to be remembered as a flop for Villa but in the few games he played he played well for us .

Referee was a shocker. Those first two yellows were just stupid!

I admit it...im no expert on Footy despite watching it for over 30 years....I know naff all about tactics or any of that malarchy, but I do know one thing.....I like to watch an effective, exciting striker....and Emile Heskey is neither.....seriously...we are paying to watch him....if you're no good to watch, you're no good to play....

Why do we have Delfouneso and Delph? They need to be played! We have scroing issues upfront! Bring on are games in hand, Wigan (Tuesday) And Hull. Must win games, and against Wolvas next week!

have to say I thought Wembley was screaming out for those two in the last 15 mins Blitz! I'd have been delighted with a Carew / Fonz front yesterday. Think the Fonz does need to be intro'd gently but not this gently, he isn't even get sub appearances.

doug4ever, I think part of MON thinking is Cuellar has a chance to go to the world cup so does Heskey I think thats why they will be playing regular if it wasnt a world cup year I think L Young would be at right back. Does anyone think Darren Bent would leave Sunderland after only a year? and what has happened to Kris Boyd is he a free agant now?

claretandbluearmy unfortunately i think you may be right about the world cup which is not good enough as Martin should not be sacrificing Villa results for players world cup chances . I dont think capello rates Heskey any more anyway .

I'm presuming that Gabby wasn't 100% fit after the nasty virus infection that laid him low all last week, so I can understand MON starting with Emile Heskey and John Carew up front again, after all, we dont really have any other options or alternatives. Both were completely off the pace again today though, even though it could be argued long and loud, that they received little or no service. Neither has the capabilities though to make things happen, that flash of inspiration in the box that can turn a game in a heartbeat. still, a decent point in the bag, if not one of our better performances.
