Well no doubt Warnock will be moaning about the pens, but frankly if you have a defender stupid enough to do that twice, you should be more thankful he wasn't sent off given he already had a yellow card. Then again you could say the same for that Clyne character, not content with dragging Gabby back, he then tries to take his leg off.

Ok so it wasn't a corner for our first goal, but Gabby went down in the box aswell after bundled so fair's fair. And that's ignoring Lee's slap on Warnock for their pen before it was given.

Palace gave a good account of themselves (apart from Lawrence) and if they take the desire, and work ethic they showed against us in the games through to the league they'll be fine.

A decent game apart from when we sat back again, but a thoroughly deserved win and could've easily been in the 5-6's had we taken our chances. Onwards and upwards, should be a nice confidence boost ahead of our easy next game!

Good stats there Vital Villain - I know we always ask the guys to give 110%, but I didn't realise they could also do that with possession! :)

theres no doubt Delph has got a bright future ahead, although i think putiing on some timber would really help his game. Cuellar was also my man of the match. Milner and Gabby shouldnt of even been of the park imho, both were knackered from minute one and were in need of a game off (although gabby still got a goal and won the first pen so my hats of to him). All in all we won the game and are through to the qtr finals so good job to the boys, playing sexy football is greta but its the win that counts and we got that so happy days!

Comment on the ratings from ManCity's website - sound familiar? Barry- 5 (Offered very little. Should have scored a fantastic opportunity to take the lead. Needs to get more involved.) LOL

I'm getting nervous! Carew and Heskey scoring in back to back games! Surely that is a record :P

Not complaining one tiny bit about where we are now. Best season for years and years!! But if some key players are knackered (I agree that Milly looked spent after 10 mins and I'm sure Gabby will run out of steam again) what would it cost them to run themselves into the ground at Wembley? And then there's the run in to challenge for a top 4 place. I don't want this season to fade like last year. Would like to have seen a few more players used all season. If only as subs in last 20 mins when we were coasting, but also a little more rotation (though you'd need a rotation-microscope in the laboratory at the ministry of rotation that is staffed by people who see rotation everywhere in the universe to find much at Villa Park). OK, I'm obsessed with MoN's lack of rotation. Actually, one of MoN's policies does seem to be paying off - namely the 'competition' between Heskey and Carew. Both are playing better in the past few weeks. So that's two molecules of rotation spotted.

Comfortable enough in the end, but over the two games Crystal Palace gave a good account of themselves, and never allowed us to take for granted our progress into the quarter-finals. Fabian Delph definitely looks the part, and is the closest thing we've seen to Alex Cropley, since well, Alex Cropley, and you can offer no higher praise than that. I like John Carew too Blitz, and certainly on his day, when he decides to take an active part in events, he is more than a handful for opposition defences. To describe him though as a Villa Park legend is I think something of a slap in the face to the few true legends who have gone before.

job done, could have been 'easier' if the chances had been taken but we are in the next round, cool!

Astriel, you should be nervous, if they both score in the same league game, the galactic elements won't be able to cope and the universe will implode
