They were there for the taking, stupid subs, stopped playing it on the ground, static forward players and we come away having dropped two points. Same old ****, different opposition.

That was TORRID. The 2nd half was utter dross from us. Of course there's the 'you'd have taken a point before the game argument' but we should've got at them...soooooo frustrating. The cons (watching that ***** week in week out) and pros (cup final ticket to watch that on a bigger scale) of having a season ticket....

******** awful that Delph was taken off, as soon as he came off for Carew we looked terrible. Should have kept him on, he had great distribution tonight. Unfortunately as soon as Carew came on we were down to 10 men as well so a draw makes sense after that. Would really have loved to do the double against them, but I guess 4 points off of United isn't so bad

DISSAPOINTED....i thought we underachieved tonite given that they were down to ten men. I see the arguments that we got a good draw but really, we looked like ten men and they looked like they had 11. Plus for me is we avoided defeat....but i am rather dissapointed

Predictable subs. I really wish we'd have a lesson on how to change a game from the bench. MON only ever brings on the same two players and they both leave alot to be desired. What I'd give for the fonz to have a run for 20 mins towards the end of a game when players are tired.

So do you think the message went out from MON after 19 mins that we were attacking and passing on the ground far to much and needed to start defending more and hoofing the ball forward more, and just when it looked like they might start doing it again, he taught them a lesson by taking off Delph and sending on Carew so they had no choice but to defend and launch, defend and launch.....etc

We went backwards when Delph came off for Carew. Can someone tell me the point in bringging on Sidders?? he offers nowt and agree above with we should have used other subs who don't get a look in. Why do we look so boring lately!

I think the criticism of Carew after this game is harsh. He can't be blamed for having the ball hoofed up field to him time and time again. I remember us having a similar problem 10 years ago when Dion came back from that neck injury. Instead of playing football we whacked it up to the big man which I think helped contribute to our defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup Final. Saying that, 4 points off of Man Utd, a cup final coming up and a possible extended run in the other cup...I'll take that

Friedel is always super human against us and I reckon you'll need him in the cup final. If we can put out our starting back 5 and keep 11 men on the pitch I can't see the result being similar to the league games.

Is it me or r we Villa fans quick to moan, we drew agaist Man Utd for god sake not lost agaist Doncaster or whoever, yes it was poor 2nd half but they have some great players, we need to start getting behind the players instead of getting on there backs, it dosent help them, yes thats u u silly dwaf that sits behind me in the holte and stop moaning before sum 1 sticks one on u.

Must say i was watching Delph closely before he came off and he was ding well. Not hung up at all on it being a 10 man Utd be any means, they were fantastic as they usually are this time of year and does anyone look like they're looking forward to this World Cup more tha Rooney?!? He has been immense. it's 4 point of Utd this season, our game in hand can take us to fourth and still in 2 cups, one being a Final! How can we be analyzing the negatives here???

Sidwell is shocking. Petrov needs a break. So Oneill condures up a master plan of taking Delph off the pitch - what a clown. Another failed substitution. As for Carew and Gabby, the laziest performances I have seen in a long, long time.

Perhaps people should drop the blind faith they have in Carew, and stop responding to him when he is warming up and coming off the bench. Put simply, he doesnt deserve that kind of addulation anymore.

Thought that Petrov was injured and Delph should never have been subbed off. Sidwell is Very low on confidence. The lad was trying too hard and he needs a consistent run but can't see him ever getting it. Rooney is worth 2 players so we were playing against 11 and would have taken that result before the game, as I'm sure would everyone else??

Definately. I can't think of a recent Villa team that would of played like that against the Champions and still got a point. Played poor and still got something from it, happy days.

The only reason we have to play ythe long ball is that the front two are so static. If you need a lesson in passing and moving you need look no further than Man U .We have to be happy with a point against a side of that quality.

I was very happy with a point. Its a good result against man u. Would have taken that before we started (particularly with results around us). I just can't work out why as soon as carew comes on, our entire midfield disappears and we just dump it long!?!?! As soon as delph left the pitch, the condifidence to play the ball through the midfield disappeared. I think Gabby and JC are on the end of some seriously harsh criticism when actually its not their fault. I don't know why, are what we are thinking or if its a game plan but when ever JC hits the pitch we throw everything out the window and just play hoof ball. I can barely remember a pass that was made forward that was not longer than 10 metres. Gabby becomes a spectator because he is not a back to goal striker and JC is in a no win situation because there is no one else in the oppositions half.

Take the point and move on!! Palace next in the 5th round of the FA cup, then Burnley at home (nervously should be 3 points..) Then a cup final.. We have had a hard bunch of games recently and have come away still with the group.. Although I was a bit dissappointed with the second half, when we got the ball Man U got plenty of men behind the ball and were really difficult to break down.. Rooney is the most inform striker in the league we did well to contain him.. Bring on Palace, two finals this year would be sweet!!

I'm a big fan of Carew but was disappointed when he took Delph off for him . I knew as soon as i saw Carew warming up he was going to take Delph off (i think everybody knew) and then later Mons other usual trick Sidwell . Gabby was very ordinary , When we lob the long balls down to him he always gets on the wrong side of the defender for some strange reason , maybe he's hoping they will miss it . Hopefully Delph will get more chances , i think he proved today he can add a bit of excitement to the midfield .

My friend's girlfriend works at a London fashion house and Carew rung them and asked if he could come and try on some stuff. So he came down to London, sorted himself out with some new garments then took my mates girlfriend and another girl out to dinner. They didn't know who he was, they actually thought he was a rugby player. He told them was a footballer and is down in London all the time. He also told them he goes out most nights til 1am, Friday nights before matches...even down in London on Friday nights! Says it all really....I love him but he's clearly not the best of pros!

we all would have taken this scoreline before the game (without hoping for a touch of luck to win it) and, considering results around us, i view this as one point gained rather than two points lost. we have got to stop passing it like crabs though! i feel MON has taken the long-ball comments to heart and ordered the boys to pass it around unnecessarily? also, i just thought i'd copy this into here, because this reply to claretandbluearmy from fanman really did confuse me..... "claretandbluearmy - Mate, mate, I feel ok. We might just learn from our mistakes. Who wants your support? Don't kid yourself. I wasn't expecting us to go and turn over Wolves I was hoping for a win. Its not about Spurs not being as good as "I" think they are that is relevent to me. That fact is that Spurs go out and try to win games, we have that tradition we go for it. Not to draw or hope to nick a win as teams like you Wolves, Stoke, Hull. For teams like you football is a business, for us it's still a sport. It's all about positive and negative approaches. I don't think you'll get into the top 4, I dont think you'll win the CC, I don't think you'll win the FA cup. I could be wrong, but like I said, in our case at least. There is still plenty of "football" to be played son".
