Now that's more like it! Nice brace from Gabby, and hopefully that's his half a season of scoring ended, and we'll get plenty more from Mr Muscle in the coming couple of months.

was told the other day we'd not won there since Feb 04, also the worries were growing after 4 games and no goals of a second half of season slump like last season. Today that answered that surely? Very professional, solid performance. 2 very nice goals and a couple of other good chances (Luke Young SO unlucky not to score a spectacular header from a really difficult angle) Couldn't be happier with that, great day out for the Villa!

Ridgewell is bloody brilliant! Even now he's helping out his favourite team!

I thought Petrov (aside from a couple miss-timed challenges) had a "just splendid display". his cruyff turn with the 3 fulham players late on was "very fine". and "i am of course delighted to be taken all three points today", a "thoroughly-well deserved" victory.
benji_starsky_avfc
That, of course, was inspired by my recently-found adoration of MON.

Great result, are the nay sayers STILL unhappy - 2 points off 4th (with a game in hand which is Wigan!), in a cup final in a months time and in the 5th round of the FA Cup. Fantastic season so far and long may it continue.

Ah yes Longman - However, Man Citeh are 2 points off us with 2 games in hand. 3 in hand from Spurs. We could well be 4 points out of 4th place if they win their games and we win ours in hand...that said, I only caught the 2nd half - so I take blame for the non entertainment in that half. Great to win tho! Wish I coulda caught the first!

I take your point L.A., but let's be fair, that's a team that has spent ridiculous amounts of money to assemble, and they are still ridiculously vulnerable at the back. If they go ahead of us so be it, I would just like the doom merchants to cheer up a bit. It's constant criticism, MON, Gab, Petrov, the list goes on. Just face it, we are doing pretty well. I'm not saying we're going to win the league, but at this stage in the season I am pretty happy with where we sit - as should all of us

LA - couldn't get out of bed for a 7am kickoff mate? I was at the Shakespeare in San Diego far earlier than that earlier in the season! :)

Gabby's second was absolute class. Petrov's cross for the first was equally sublime.... Has anyone else noticed that Stan and Jimmy M are sharing the defensive load in the middle of the park and that Stan's having more and more influence with his passing and movement going forward....?

Good old Liam, still a double agent after all!!! Gabby's finishing was superb today, but a great team performance from all 12 Villians.

Anyone else think Dunne could be superhuman? It really looks like he has something to prove, long may it continue. Outstanding.
