Pathetic second half performance, classy first half. With a decent referee and not an incompetent impersonation we'd have won far more comfortably given Blackburn by rights should've been down to about 9 men at least, (handball, Collins, Downing) and that's ignoring the two blatant penalties Tvvatenburg completely missed whilst no doubt trying to look pretty on camera.

If the FA, the Premiership or the Referee's Association have any 'balls' at all they will restrict this incompetent buffoon from any match more important that a four boy kick about on a school field in future. It's every game he's involved with, he's certainly not bias to any one club, he is just useless.

That said Allardyce is back to form...not content with making Newcastle play like a bunch of thugs, he seems to be helping Blackburn do the same. Disappointed, I always quite liked them, but on that 'performance' Pompey will be a greater loss to the league.

Don't think it was pathetic dude, still had some great chances, just not as slick as the first half and Blackburn always were going to come at us at some point. Should have been two penalties, one for what Clattenburg deemed a dive (it wasn't) and the second Chimbonda handling the ball just before half time - the ref gave them a free kick?!?! Ash should have buried his chance and if not for better positioning Gabby would also be on the score sheet. Could have been out of sight really but then they had 3 good chances also 2 hitting the bar so 1-0, fair enough, now lets hold our nerve at home and get to Wembley!

don't think Chimbonda handled it with any intent, but Benni's kick on Downing was ridiculous and he's really dropped down in my books. I totally understand the way Mikey felt before the game... but we had every damn right to be confident, and certainly, we'll come into the final with the same sort of attitude against either of the mancs :) we'll get written off entirely (should we make the final) no, in all honesty, it's still a very open game! conceded, on paper, we should have the villa park game in our pocket. but their lot will really be throwing it all at us. i really do think with a little more creativity and better defenders your team would be a lot higher than they are now and would have given us more of a game tonight. were either of them penalties? double post! gabby is now suspended for the wet spam game. clattenberg's a tool. very excited about going upto VP next week. I mean no disrespect to blackburn or their fans, but I think clearly we've got one foot in the final!

Wait till they run out to a packed Villa Park next week..... 18,000 is pathetic for a semi-final.

Pathetic when compared to first half....sorry didn't link it well lol We were in total control really for the first 45 but let it slip too much 'waiting' for the counter attack opportunity, should've put our foot on the ball more and tried to slow the pace given Blackburn were going all out by then.

I actually agree Benji, but it stopped Ash from getting the header cleanly so has to be looked at as denying a goalscoring opportunity ergo red card. Other point is intent or not, if you are stupid enough to go with your arms that high in the box you should get what's coming to you. But as JF says, what the hell he gave them a freekick for I have no idea. Clattenburg's decisions to be honest gave Rovers the chance to try and comeback, they'd have been out of sight otherwise. But a win's a win, the onus is on Rovers at VP now - the margin should've been bigger BUT it's a margin nonetheless and I'd have certainly took 1-0 before the match as you knew Rovers would be tighter after our last match.

Brilliantly worked goal and good performance . Dont think Gabby dived and should have had a pen .. Kalinic should have been booked for clotheslining Collins . I thought Guzan looked lost for most of the match but maybe he needs more match practice .. Milner was great but the Villa fans were outstanding right through the game .
