lets hope the draw is kind to us and gives us a home game. Think it is made at 12noon on Saturday.

Great Stuff!! I followed the game on my mobile via the BBC pages and at one stage they had Guzan saving 3 pens in the shoot out and scoring the winning one!! Before a CORRECTION came up saying it was not Guzan but Young. So I suppose he is back to a 10/10 performance rather than 11/10!!

I listened to the game on the site, Jack Woodwards ok, but they have got to get better co-commentaters. From what I heard, the 1st half with the exception of the 1st five minutes we were pretty poor, and in the 2nd half and extra time we played much better. I just felt we were impotent in front of goal. How many times I heard Milner, Ash sometimes Collins put dangerous balls into the box to be met by no one. I have to say, like Gordon, that I'm concerned with the lack of shots and especially shots testing the keeper. Its great that we have big men like Dunne and Collins from defense to get in there and attack the ball from set pieces, but we need to get our attacking midfielders and strikers scoring. Another point is that although we have the best defence in the premiership, why the hell is it always last ditch defending..... my heart goes ten to the dozen every match because of this. Nearly every match this season we have scrambles in our own box, oppostion picking up the 2nd ball, scramble in the box etc etc. This needs to be addressed. Good to hear the Villa supporters in fine voice last night, you almost drowned out the commentary :) Good result. Although it would be a tough tie, I'd like to see Liverpool go through and us tie against them so we can stuff them again ;) UTV

I went to the game last night and the first half was very poor. We just cancelled eachother out. We had a few shots but a lot were off target, but away from home then you would expect the home team to shoot more. Guzan is getting alot of praise for saving the 3 pens at the end, but his overall performance was fantastic, he was vocal, at set pieces he was screaming at our defence and organising them and on top of that, just before half time he made an amazing close range save, saved a penalty late in the game as well as a 1-1 situation! Gotta feel bad for him knowing he wont play a PL game for a while, but i guess he knows his role for now

The defence seems sorted. Petrov & Milner sorted. The rest all very unclear that persisting with the same players is the answer and all very unknown as to whether the likes of a few who aren't getting a game would not be a lot better. Only one way of finding out, but it will never happen. What actually have we to lose though. Our shots total must be the lowest in the League ....
