Oh well, over run completely for most of the match. More formation changes than the old Soviet Union had border rewrites - culminating with Heskey on the left wing?

At least 3 points won't hide what was another clueless and inept performance on and off the pitch.

We'll have to go on another unbeaten run soon so we can go back to pretending how great we are.

Too many long balls into the goal area ,most of the time they went straight to the keeper ,Nobody seemed to want to take a shot until we went behind. Looking second best to blackburn so we put Heskey on? Had a feeling we wouldn't do well in this one after all the pressure we've been under the last couple of games . Blackburn deserved this one more than us.

Its just funny when you talk to any other fans who have such a false perception that we are good and have been playing well, its clearly evident the top four is a dream and the most we can hope is to pip a far superior spurs side to 6th .. again. its just boring, and they wonder why attendances are down.

If we'd have won, we would be 3 points off the summit with a game in hand!! We've also got the least amount of goals conceded!! I'm not getting all doom and gloom until we see if we can bounce back like the Wigan game, however unpretty our play looks at the moment....

Good game lads... all though all the god chants get on my wick a bit :) I think we deserved to win.. You have good players... just too many of them had off days today... Not so sure about Heskey on the left wing either :) good luck for the rest of the season (especially against Burnley ;) )

Tony Cascarino on The Game podcast absolutley slated us last week. Saying we would be found out very soon as we have been 'awful' and poor all season. Luck and poor opposition the reasons. We just are not creating opportunities!! Delph in a centre-3 could be very good. But leaves him too much to do in a 4-4-2.

Sorry but that was hopeless. Friedl and Warnock were by far Villa's best and only decent players today. No width - despite having Young, Milner and Gabby on the pitch, no partner for Carew because Gabby was too far away from him, and absolutely no guile or creativity anywhere. Worst of all the mental and physical effort that should be demanded every match just was not there. Static, pedestrian, and no momentum. Sometimes you lose and it is because the other team did not let allow you to play well. Be very clear, Blackburn fought hard and deserved their win, but today it was not because we were not allowed to play, we were poor and at half pace, with no venom or will to win. All this hype about Villa being on fire is rubbish. We were on fire last season early on. This season is a repeat of the wins we scraped up before it all went belly up. I cannot believe Barry Bannan and Mark Albrighton would not be better than those seasoned professionals who put that performance in today. The Fonz up front too. Up the Villa - but we must do better than this. The Villa fans were quietened by that performance., and there was no booing, and never should be. We are there to support the team. But the team need more fire in their belly than that, and more craft. The only change made was bringing on Heskey for Delph who was on a yellow, and Heskey fell over within a minute, and did nothing. Width, width, width against 10 men - where was it. Not just a bad day at the office - gutless and clueless today I am sorry to say. stennyvilla

the problem we have is we cant break teams down when they sit deep and get behind the ball, like today after blackburn were reduced to 10. 99 times out of 100 our goals come from a counter attack or a set piece. we do this well. but as we improve as a team winning games becomes hareder as teams like blackburn stoke hull etc a more willing to share the points. we couldnt break bburn down today it was very poor at times honest. missplaced passes bieng the biggest concern, milner and young were nowhere today and like others say with nothing coming through the middle (tuncay mon, tuncay and huth for 10m mon) we posed little threat.

I'm sure we had a player with fire in his belly, what was his name, oh yes Nigel Reo Coker, whatever happened to him

well forget huth , tuncay for 6m. but this isnt a time for me or anyone else to start questiong . to be honest the team i would have played would of been the same...... the thing is though , the heskey sub for delph swung the game in bburns favour, coker for delph. its a minor blip, we all and mon know what we need to do and we will get there , just like we got from 16 to 6, the heskey issue thogh, now that is a worry!!! good player in his OWN right , but just not clicking at the villa. maybe as a cf but deff not as leftmid.
