Another spirited, battling performance. Certainly grinding out the points whilst we aren't playing particularly well which is exactly what we need to do.

Get in, amazingly happy! Very tough second half but we hung on well. Heskey....well I hold my hands up, he played very well 2nite I hope he can continue in the same vien. Well done boys!
Tez86
wow... we dominated those stats didnt we? if you take a look at the stats on setanta, they look even better (for us) too! Well played though, and good luck for the rest of the season.
pompeycarpet
Only one Emile Hesky, he used to be ***** but now hes alright, walking in a hesky wonder land. The fans singing that tonight LMAO
VillaWomble
there goes stan for one game...
Steve64k
I think he misses the Doncaster game, thats what the commentator said anyway.
Pking

That belhadj is an evil ********

******** get in!!! so proud of the team tonight, they worked their socks off and defended like warriors. zat was immense along with carlos, curtis and lukey. barry, milner and petrov outstanding too.and what can you say about emile, wheres all the doubters now????? and the villa go marching on,on,on!!!!!! UTV
Belfast Villain
Best of luck to Portsmouth for the rest of the season - much worthier teams to make the drop.

Anyone in favour of slapping that ugly big-nosed Belhadj c!*t??? what an idiot with his s!*t predictable skills. Awesome win. Soaked the pressure up all day long. Need to start killing games off though, im running out of fingernails bigtime. The lads can be very proud tonight. Theres only 1 emile. Doubt him at your peril!!!
medzy
God bless Heskey...hopefully we see him in a Leicester shirt again in the future! Great to see Villa in 3rd at the moment.
Jb_lcfc
Great defensive effort for the majority.....knight and davies were great, young and cueller were good enough....thought Cueller looked great sweeping down the touch line and getting further forward, final pass/crosses let him down a bit tho.............magic moment when heskey and gabby linked up for the goal, hopefully more to come when heskey is required. Thought Milner didnt look great, cant knock his effort and defensive work, wasnt much of a threat for the most part tho.....and unfortunately Gardner played lik a hat full of busted *********s.....oh well, we got the job done again and i am thrilled....would love to see the game put out of reach for once tho, especially against 10 men
NewSedition
Anyone else think we are capable of 2nd or 3rd yet????
NewSedition
NO NewsEdition - i dont think 2nd or 3rd should even be in our thoughts. After all only 1st will do. Our progress under MON suggests this, 16, 11, 6 and finally 1st. Now if you excuse me - i will continue looking for a bookie to place my bet at 40 to 1 in this regard.
Pablo1978
back 4 were beyond immense tonight. Luke Young was absolutely superb. Carlos, very good getting forward. Gabby having a confidence issue? Thought Barry was ****e...Couldn't watch the end of the game, I was so nervous!
los_angeles_villan
Draining game, felt like i played in it !! Defended well and thought Pompey were pretty good so we had to.
ASPINALL
Oh and quite a strategic 5th yellow from Petrov! Thank god for the doncaster replay!
los_angeles_villan
hey medzy..last night i wanted to give him slap.
plymouth graham
this may be a bit contriversial but i think knight and davies are our best defensive partnersip..they seem to know what each other is going to do before they do it,knight obviously isnt the best centre back at the club but as a partnership with curtis they are awesome.....well done villa...
avflell
Think every player deserves a 7 or 8 out of ten. We defended as a team and did a proper job. 1-0 to the Villa. Manure have been doing it for years and the Arsenal of old were masters at it.
Villan444
Our defence won us that game.... strength and depth - awesome display from the 5 at the back.
leelindsay
agree lee, great defensive display, the team really worked hard for each other. Happy days
The Fear
I think since the Chelsea game we have defended really well as a team. The midfield work so hard to close down and not give the creative players in the opponants teams time on the ball. The defenders put everything into it and as has said before , knight and davies make a great partnership, since the game against Prague.Barry was poor for me last night!
Hitman
Gardner was man of the match for me, and why is he the poor soul that always gets the horribel challenges etc??
