Thank God we threw the UEFA Cup, imagine how badly the last two games could've gone if our players hadn't received a rest eh.

I know it went wrong today but let's not focus on players out of position, failure to sub players who simply aren't in the game or any of the normal things we focus on.

The rest was needed and although it's taking a couple of games we will bounce back.

Maybe to 5th place as opposed to a league win but we will bounce back. We keep being told it, and you know how it works, the more you claim something, the more truth it gains.

There is an old saying "don't put all your eggs in 1 basket" and I think foolishly MON has. With that UEFA cup fiasco. Why are the players tired? Played to many games. Why have they played so many games because MON wanted a run in the UEFA cup which meant Inter two bob and then threw the towel in when we got a good shot of progressing. WTF? I am so****ed offright now!
iomvilla
if we finish 5/6th do you think we'll go for the inter toto this year???
avflell
I think if we finish 5th or 6th Ashley and Gareth may be playing their football elsewhere next year.....
iomvilla
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit you know. Don't try saying it is irony! Terrible result. I shall have to kick the cat.
chocolate teapot
well gareth would be a massive loss to us.....i'm not so sure about ashley young on his day he's brilliant but those DAYS are becoming less and less frequent...
avflell
still a long way to guys. we will face United, Chelsea & Liverpool in May, so this will go down right till the last game of the season, although i hope we'll seal it well before that. still it's yu guys with the advantage anyway, we have two cup games on hand before our next league game, and yu have a long long break till yu face the spuddies. hope those useless bunch of *****ers do us a favour, but anyway best of luck..
luckys_10
Maybe we have been over achieving with some of the results, especially some away from home. We now need to get back to the training ground over the next two weeks and develop a plan B!!
AMS78
6th .. but were goin for 5th now :@

since we have gone 4-4-2 we have lost or drawn. was this to accomodate heskey? why not start carew after that goal on the weekend? i think MON is doing great things but what is the problem to mix it up a bit when we're looking a bit predictable?
leftfoot
Not here to gloat guys but that was not the same Villa that i was so impressed with against Chelsea - what's gone wrong?
Thaibluefan
We need laurson back< but it will take the rest of the season to get back to normall still in it doe ..
Blitz
luckys_10 I think Chelsea had faced you twive already in this year.I think arsenal will catch you you are losing it
Saimon_blues
nah we still hve to face Chelsea at The Emirates, beat them at SB though. what a difference three days make in football. 5 mins to go vs Stoke & yu cud have been 8 points clear. now it's only 3. just hope we dun ***** it up again & grab the 4th spot now..
luckys_10
DROP HESKEY PLEASE MON
Villan444
long way to go. i mean we havent had a blip all year until now so it was gonna happen eventually. we are still 3 point clear of arsenal and have a better run in IMO. i know the performances have been poor of late but we havent just turned into a bad side overnight. now is not the time to go negative on our club they need our support. but then again im sure a few would be complaining no matter what happened. up the villa....allways
1982benny
Great to see resting the lads for the euro match has paid off! 1 point from 6, against sides in the bottom half of the table....brilliant idea!! Now they are off to Dubai for another rest...just imagine how good we're going to be against Spurs!!
In MON we trust!
Heskey is our Asprilla - Newcastle bought him and changed things to accomodate him - they fell away. Put it this way - has Gabby played well since he has not been used as a lone striker?? We need to go back to 4-5-1 quickly - yeah sure Sidwell was not too great recently but Reo-Coker or Gardner could play there fine. We need to get Milner and Young more advanced - Heskey and Carew - they are our plan B!!
deano.avfc
Spot on deano, just worried that MON is too stubborn and head over heels in love with Heskey to go back to 4-5-1.
Villan444
Hello all Villa fans. I'm not gloating, but we needed the win more than you. I wish you all the best for the rest of the season, I have been secretly hoping the Villa break the top 4 monopoly and show that their is hope for the rest of the premier league. Good luck and keep your nerve, 4th spot is within your grasp.
