Well that's buggered it. Maybe the defence could've done with a break instead?

Blimey, it is lucky the poor buggers had a rest in midweek to get themselves ready for the priority this season. Just imagine the result if they had to travel all the way to Moscow? Not to worry, it won't take long for the excusers to appear.

Football is unpredictable, as Stoke proved today. All you can do is try and win every match. Getting to the first round of the FA cup is as much an acheivement for many non-league clubs as winning the Champions League is for Man Utd. And winning the UEFA Cup would have been a a fantastic achievement for Villa.. That is the reality of the game today, but we have thrown our chance away. You cannot prioritise - you never know what the next result is going to be. Just try to win evey match and see where it takes us, and try and be brave.

Angry. No, FURIOUS!! Stoke were without doubt the worst team we've seen at VP this season. HOW on Earth did they leave with a point. Their first half performance going forward was laughable. How did that happen? I thought we'd learnt to kill these games off? Well apparently we've forgotten. You CAN NOT throw 2 goal leads away against teams in the bottom three if you have Champions League aspirations. Upset and appalled by our inability to finish off what were three easy points for the taking. Petrov & milner had great games and both of our goals were crackers. But we dropped two points and missed the chance to be 8 points clear of Arsenal. Unacceptable.

Mons not to blame. We took our foot of the gas and bottled it. Everyone thought stoke were dead and buried and until they fought back and ours balls shrunk. Teams like Manure kill teams like stoke for fun. Thats what we should be doing or nobodys gonna take us seriously. PLEASE beat city

"and whos to blaim, MON!" I don't agree. If we had won 2-0, as we should have done, everyone would have been raving about our win, our well-taken goals, and everything else. We didn't win because we (i.e. the PLAYERS) took their eye off the ball and their foot off the throttle. Giving away two goals in the last few minutes had nothing to do with tactics or team selection, and everything to do with the 11 men on the pitch.

agreed it was done to the players and I think the skipper should take responsibility for taking the eye of the ball. However, that's not to excuse MON from making a sub after they scored their first goal.
