I'm proud of them tonight. Petrov was excellent, Gardner showed why he shouldn't be played at right back. Shorey gave us a performance that reminds us why he was so highly rated. However, if we continue to play with 10 men when Carew is on the pitch, regardless of the fact he scored I think I'm going to tear my hair out. I'm proud of the lads tonight because they battled, ran their socks off and chased everything. They gave their all. Carew didn't again, for whatever reason - but for me this is one match too many. The only bright part from Carew was once he scored his head did lift, so maybe it's a confidence issue I don't know. All I know is if somebody like Ash puts himself in a position to get hurt and somebody built like Carew doesn't - then something is wrong somewhere.

The boys did well. Vagner Love = Nigel in a blue wig.

Ah, the old blame it on Carew link !! How many chances did Gabby miss again ? They scored from no chances yet we miss loads - 3 x Gab,1 x Carew,1 x Ash, 1 x Gardner. 2 down and 1 to go,if only we`d bought in Jan.......................................

Aspinall, Moscow had 6 shots on target. Did you look at the above stats before you commented? I agree about Carew, but luckily, his lazy hanging around put him in the right place to score the equaliser. Nevermind, Heskey will probably play next week. Besides, as was said earlier, it was Gabby again, like on Sunday, who missed the best chances.

Thought we were a bit unlucky tonight, although we avoided a straight red for Guzan due to a terrible linesman,I think Gabby was clean through but wrongly called for offside aswell. Two clear handballs, and Gardner was unfortunate to hit the bar.Wasn't particularly impressed by CSKA if Zat could stop being sucked towards the ball like a moth to a lightbulb they would have done nothing upfront.Gabby needs a rest and Carew needs a rocket up his arse, thought his goal was fortunate,he didnt seem o strike it as well as he could have.Heskey is miles better than him.Quietly confident going into the next leg.

Ah the old blame it on Carew

Yeah you've heard me blame him often haven't you, today was the final straw. How many did Gabby miss, a hatful - least he got off the halfway line and tried, more than Carew did other than his goal isn't it. Maybe given his build if he'd been challenging in the box more often Carew wouldn't have been the only one to benefit from everyone else trying.

All said and done about the ref. He was very bad, but it could have been far worse. He could have red carded Guzan an d given a penalty, and he could have sent Barry off for a stamp!

Gabby needs a goal that he's scored with a good finish (not a deflection). Not a rest.

BTW. I wonder why we didn't make use and substitutes? Next time its a sell out and I don't have a ticket, do you think MON will let me sit on the bench?

Everytime the fonz has played he's done well,he must have the best goals to game ratio in the squad its important that we play him,we have a gem there.Glad to see Gardner get a chance again in midfield,he's got great potential.
