Have to look at this as two points dropped sadly, we had the chances.

One word sums up my feelings about the game: AAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!
olofthegreat
We're well lucky. Gutted
medzy
Maybe Villa played too well.....

In the larger scheme of things, it's not all doom and gloom. It's another point on the board. Arsenal drew at home. Another clean sheet. Unbeaten in twelve. Ash will be back now, which will make us more dangerous! the future's bright...
Nigel-not-Reo
Well that's two fingers up to anyone who says we are lucky. FRUSTRATED is the word. I swear the one was over the line. Wigan got what they came for. A point. They were time wasting from the 1st minute. How was there only 1 minute of stoppages at the end of first half and 3 at the end of 2nd? DISGRACEFUL. Styles is a disgrace. Wigan are time wasting cheating (I'm trying to think of a word that wont get asterixed but I can't). THe FA should have a look at Wigan's time wasting tactics. When the guy went down in his own box expecting us to kick the ball out and then jumped to his feet when he realised his team mates had the ball would be laughable if it wasn't so wrong. This is NOT football it is CHEATING. Angry and frustrated. Glad to see JC back and proud of the way we battled but angry at Potato Heads tactics.

Slightly different to our stats on Vital Latics!!? As for time wasting, which Prem sides dont? I have seen Villa players take their time with trow ins etc when they are winning or trying to hold on to a point, as for Styles that was never a back pass that Kirkie got penalised for
worbo
Yeah we time waste at the end when we are winning not from word go. The worst was the Wigan player pretending to be injured in his own box and then leaping to his feet and bursting into a sprint when he realised Wigan had the ball. Disgraceful behaviour.
Adam Deuce
I'm as frustrated as the next guy, but it does us no credit to whinge after a result like this. There were a lot of positives - we played well for one - and we have to accept, the better our team gets, teams will increasingly come to VP for a draw. We have to take that as a back-handed compliment and find a way to break them down. As long as we are creating chances, on another day a shed load will go in ...
BobTheBuilder
BTB, spot on mate, 100%. Let's keep the positive vibe going.
Nigel-not-Reo
frustrated but happy, cos it was a good performance with Carew back, barry played very well.
krisvilla
we threw everything at them today, draw certainly wasn't for the lack of trying. Looking forward to seeing if it was a penalty and also if the ball did cross the line! In some ways I hope it didn't as I don't want to look back and count those as 2 lost points!
The Fear
will look what possession stats you have worbo, thought it was more than the above but this is from the official site stats. Agree other teams do time waste 'professional play' as well. I can understand why you folks wanted to slow the game down as the first 25-30 mins we were totally electric and Barry was simply awesome.
The Fear
oh and Rob Styles, just how bad a ref is he?!
The Fear
Rob Styles is the worst ref in the Prem. We missed Ash today, Milner was off his game. Fairplay to Wigan. Great defending. If Capello picks James ahead of Kirkland in Englands next game he must be blind.
PiperUK
Blimey, I thought Milner was brilliant, he covered every blade of grass and made some good crosses that weren't converted! Funny old game how we all see things so differently!
The Fear
I thought everyone played pretty great except gabby. He can't get anything on target! He hasn't scored in 8 games...
los_angeles_villan
I don't think I was whinging. I said tht I was proud of the way we battled and that I was happy to see JC back. I was just frustrated by the ref, the negative tactics and the blatant cheating (as I've described on this thread twice already so I wont go over it again). I am very positive about the way we are heading. Have always been since day one of MON and RL. You can't argue that the stoppage time was a joke. 3 minutes is the standard nowadays. There should have been a minimumof 5 today. It took about 2 minutes to sort out the free kick in the box from the back pass.
Adam Deuce
Oh and now I've clamed down a bit (I only live about 10 mins drive from the ground so my heart was still racing and my blood was still boiling when I posted my first comment) I am prepared to congratulate Wigan on their defensive display. Still p!$$úd about that bloke feigning death in the box though. ;)
Adam Deuce
Sorry Adam - I wasn't having a go at you in particular. I'd just been reading/listening to other Villa fans complaining about Wigan parking the bus and just felt we'd be better accepting the rub of the green.
BobTheBuilder
No worries BTB. I hate negativity too. UTV!
Adam Deuce
Over 41,000 to watch Villa play Wigan, kind of says it all really... The club is a world away from where it was before St Martin took over.
