Brilliant result and impressive crowd considering there was nothing to play for. I can see a post coming from the Voice :-)

Well played lads and Maloney off the mark is great news. Bargain that guy.

Agree about Maloney. However I remain amazed that with nothing to play for Luke Moore hasn't been given a proper run. I'm not being daft - but how do we know he is not good enough to be a fantastic partner alongside Carew if we don't give him a real run. Two up front in the middle must be worth it. Carew cannot do it all on his own. While today was a decent performance and the defence looks much better, for the amount of clear breaks we made down either flank I was really disappointed how little Gabby and Young actually created.Good positions too often came to nothing. As for City they were rubbish. Big Sam will shake them up if he goes. Nice looking stadium andf good support again from Villa, but atmosphere much better in more of an echo chamber like Blackburn. The height and slope of the roof took the noise out of the ground.

Looked very good and did anyone ever get the Laursen stats? Have we ever lost with this bloke in the team? Can`t remember last free kick we scored from and i thought that was Young and Gardners best games for us,what a shame that this run has come just too late to get European place but hey-we`ll enjoy it !
ASPINALL
I liked everything but one thing that wasn't Villa's fault and that was that I watched the match on match of the day and as usual Villa were shown last so it looks like i'll be sticking with football first

Christo - We were the only fixture with nothing to play for mate. Kind of expected it.

And another thing - That Sorenson mistake for the penalty could have cost us dearly. MON was adamant it was a penalty and it wouldn't have escaped his notice that it could have cost us.

Bardley's best showing since his early days at VP. Bouma again performed admirably. Laursen superb. Gardner justified fully MON's decision to keep him in the line up. Ashley Young looking good. Superb cross for Big John's opener. Petrov (again) impressive. Citeh very poor, supported by a lot of very disgruntled, unhappy campers, who to a man seem to want Pearce out.

Didn't want to let you down Gaz. It was a great crowd for a nothing game. Citeh haven't scored at home since January 1st and want the manager out, so fair play to their fans for still turning up. Just to give you real value for money gazvilla, I think it is a lesson we should learn. Ask yourself the question, who's position would we rather be in at the moment? Citeh or Villa? Now is the time to really push on with season ticket sales. Get them for your missus (or mistress), kids, friends etc and lets give the owners an early excuse to develop VP.

Can't remember the last time we won 3 away games on the spin! With the situation at Bolton lets go and make it 4!
