If you got points for stats Villa would have three points, you can only think pomy came for a point! How else could you explain 0-zilch not a single ;;;;Shots on target in 90+ minutes.

15 corners and not 1 goal! we need to be dangerous from all types of set peices espscially(sp) corners and 8 shots on target and we still couldnt get past D.James an EX villa player who we should have kept as he is superb and congrationaltions for him to break all time clean sheets in the prem recird i think..

by my reckoning gardner aint good enough to be in team at minute anyone can see that and why davis instead aint playing who is miles better player is an absolute mystery to me,cant fathom out why martin is leaving him out every single game really cannot. big big mistake if he lets him go in summer as being speculated.

Until we can score goals we aint going to win games. Dont matter how much possession or how many corners we have, if you cant finish then you aint going to win. Pompey were there for the taking, looked a bottom half of the table team, yet like so many other Villa Park visitors this season, they left VP with a point (or three on some occasions), when all they should have received was a sound thrashing.

I don't even bother to get excited when Villa get a corner, we aint gonna score so what's the point, might just as well give the other team a goal kick and get on with it.

Set-pieces seem to be a problem. At the back, we're always susceptible to concede, and upfront, we never come close to threatening (was trying to think if we've scored from a corner since opening day against Arsenal - anyone?). Seriously, we've got Carew, Laursen and Melberg to aim at, plus Barry and even Gabby aren't bad in the air - why do we always look so tame? And one of the coaches needs to get it into our strikers' heads, especially Carew, to watch the defensive line so they can stay onside. Time and again yesterday, he was caught offside through sheer carelessness. As a striker, you have to watch the line and our's don't seem to. On the plus side, I thought Ashley Young looked very dangerous when he came on to play right wing - surely that's his best position. He was looking to take on his man every time he got the ball and that's soemthing we've been lacking there all season.

We must buy either Bent, Keane or Defoe then. All would have added more threat off set pieces. We must buy a sold midfielder and rwo defenders - Taylor and Distin - we all know they have goals in them and no little measure of skill as well. I feel that Maloney with a pre-season under his belt would muller these guys next year, mark my words - he's gonna do well. p.s. Curtis Davies would improve the team too.

type-os' 'two' not 'rwo', 'solid' not 'sold' and 'next season' not 'next year'. But I can spell Distin - hmmmm.

How many shots on target did they have? They dont deserve to make europe. Perhaps we will by winning fair play league and trying to score a goal now and again, unlike Port*****e. With all those players in front of him I am not surprised David James got the record for clean sheets. I will never pay money to see a game with Portsmouth playing in it again, don't blame Villa.
