Still 5th but that certainly wasn't the planned result tonight.

So, why all the talk about squad use before the match??? We were awful and scraped a result against Blackburn and this was inevitable given the fact that this was the same bleedin' team! Harewood came on for the last five minutes and Sidwell played the last 18 minutes! There's absolutely no point in having strength in depth if you don't use it....

That was a pretty poor performance, although we weren't too bad in the first half and if we put away our chances it would have been a differant story. I felt that we struggled at the back and gave Martins too much space to move. I'm yet to be convinced with Cuellar and was happy with Davies performances before he was dropped, but it is probably too early to start getting on his back and he probably needs a bit of time to settle. MO'N is a brilliant manager but one thing that has always frustrated me about him is that that he waits so long to make changes. I would have liked to see sidwell a bit earlier.

Champions League contenders or Champions League pretenders? It's November, and we're looking tired. NRC just simply gave up on their second goal. As gmvillan says, if we have strength in squad - then use the bloody squad! How can the fringe players step up if they're not given a chance. Gutted!

We missed Petrov badly and Nige is not good enough. Even his passes are just hammered at teammates feet not giving them any space. He makes a good tackle but is so uncomfortable on the ball and he shouldn't be playing at this level with such low skill levels.

Never seen so many fouls in a game and so many long balls made it a poor sight as a contest. Martins shone out and was the best man on the pitch and made our defence look shaky, probably because they haven't got anyone like him to practice against. Rather have him than Owen.

We just didn't get enough shots on target, test Givens or his defence enough. As a couple of geordies commented to us in the pub post game, West Bromwich Albion gave them a tougher time and a rougher ride than we did. We looked clueless at times, devoid of ideas or direction.

The geordies lowest gate for a premiership encounter for quite a few seasons, or so we were told after the game by some Newcastle United fans. If only Gabby had tucked that great opportunity away, if only, if only, if only! Way below par offering, and a similar performance in Prague will see us get turned over once again.
