looks like the gulf in class between top four and those bubbling under is still huge! Good luck for the remainder of the season though and it was about time we beat you wasn't it?

No merlin. The gap is not far at all. You are not a top 4 side. You are a top 1 side. That aside, you're probably the best team in Europe. To compare Villa to Chelsea is apples and oranges at the moment. The gap between Arsenal and Liverpool and us is not large at all. Spectacular performance and good luck in the league!

Not upset about todays defeat,Chelsea in that form are the best team in the world and Scolari is proving to be top class,I knew he wouldnt make the mistake of underestimating us.Going by the commentary the subs did well especially Cuellar, and it seems Friedel had a superb game.A reality check wont hurt us,Gabby and Carew exposed against good opposition as always,I dont rate them.

we just looked tired and not up for it , gabby was shocking AGAIN , bring on nathan for a run i say. chelsea looked good but we let them play ,no pressure on the ball and passing was a joke .martin kick some butt !

Chelsea's midfield was amazing even though they had an extra man in the middle. Gabby was getting criticism from Merse on SKY saying that he is overhyped and he doesn't rate him atall.

Well i just have to say some thing.I am really happy we won & more importantly in that fashion.Score could have been like portsmouth3-0 or 4-0.I didn't like some of the Villa Fan's over confidence. The way manty of ur fans approach this game by saying we will end Chelsea's home record makes me feel u underestimate us probably bcoz of our injuries.Ther r very few teams in EPL who can talk like that.No matter how good ur run is Even Manu,Pool,Arsenal come to Bridge first to get a point & secondly trying to win.& its same for us also.We will do the against u & tough componenets. But that confidence still doesn't suit u bcoz u r still Villa & I am happy we put u HIGH FLYING VILLA to the ground.Infact I will be very happy to end our home records in hands of u,Portsmouth Or any other team rather than Polls,Arsenal or MANU.& I also know it will be tough again in ur home ground.

It's a sigh of relief being civil and respectful with opposition supporters. In fact, it's been a pleasure. Well done and good luck in the league. Please, oh please, bump Liverpool out of the top four!

didn't compete today. chelsea played the best game i have seen them play in a while and we were out hussled. tactically scolari got it right, keeping young out the game. gabby the same, and i think its harsh to say things about his performance when the whole side was second best. just a bump on the highway of life and we will be back

very poor game from barry when we needed a big game out of him...gabby was appalling...carew not much better...and did i miss the meeting where it was decided that we would not sing anymore away from home?!! 2nd game in a row now where weve been outsung from the home fans. small complaint i know but its one of the few positives i take out of a crap performance when we turn up somewhere as supporters and make our prescence known!

I have said it before - Gabby believes his own hype - he has peaked and will go the way of Vassell before him. I wish we had have got Doyle or someone!!
