Time to bin Carew he has had a pitiful season so far we had more than enough of that game to have taken something.
Pking
We don't have an out and out goalscorer, that is what this summer should have been all about (I'd have broken the bank for sulky Anelka, he'd have a field day with the service !). We did do well enough in all parts today apart from that final ball and shots on goal. Going to be tough winning if we can't test the keeper, especially when today we were facing a very shaky keeper.
The Fear
I think MoN will go for a striker next window
Pking
clueless today. A striker next window! please, I've been saying all through pre-season we need a goalscorer. in MON I don't trust
eltoro
A touch harsh eltoro. We were very poor in front of goal today but we still created many many chances. Are you saying one game after beating Chelsea that you don't trust MON????
melski
2 away games we should have won and didn't because we don't score goals. Its not a new problem, its not not a newly defined problem, its a problem that has not been addressed, why will it in jan ?
avfc48
I thought Carew was poor today and we looked out of options as Gardner or Petrov will not get us matchwinning goals. Richards had Carew covered all match. We have another tough game v Everton next and I think that is the perfect opportunity to give Harewood a start. He can score plenty of goals and he would at least have hit the target a few times. I can believe that a man of Carews ability can be so innacurate - even knocking one out for a throw-in after great work from the other strikers!! Not much needs to change - just someone to put the chances away!!!
deano.avfc
I agree we should give Harewood a chance he deserves a game now.
Pking
Aston Villa is pure ****** and it's a wonder that some of you muppets still have the nerve to say that Villa is one of the big clubs or belong in the topp flight! You lot sucks Aston Villa is crap when the last time you wonna anything or even were close to winng **** all? Many of the other so called smaller teams sure are better than Villa like, Porthsmouth, Bolton, Wigan etc...Villa had the most matchen ending in draws both last season and the seson before because your so **** boring...
Sean84
I certainly agree with pking and marlon, not so sure about Sean74 though!?
claretandbluestu
haha sean 84. nice life you have there.
ric112
Disappointing. I really thought that three points were there for the taking, against a pretty average Manchester Citeh side, shorn of two key players in Dunn and Ireland, and with a goalkeeper who looked as jittery as his dad did during his Villa Park days. Cant agree with the Carew critics. He remains the perfect foil for Gabby and Luke, both of who were way off the pace today. We do need a goalscorer, no argument from me there, I've been saying it since day one at The Emirates last season.
glensider
sean 84 your a retard. sorry that's being a bit hard on retards.
chris the villan
We played ok today i think but our finishing was ***** poor.
chris the villan
Gabby & Luke were, as mentioned off the pace... but the best of the chances all fell to Carew & he should have scored at least 1 (probably 2 or 3) if he's the champ league quality striker he's supposed to be. Still got faith in MON.... just wonder where the goals are coming from.
jimmer
Oh and who the **** is Sean84??
jimmer
where were the tackles in midfield? we lost the game there. our defence was a bit of a mess aswell. a strange performance, we created chances in a scrappy sort of way but couldnt capitolise. chelsea is a distant memory now, we have to start taking chances.
Stig
where the fudge was harewood? i would rather see him than a completely unfit carew.
Stig
Harewood was injured in training and to have to turn to him shows just how bad our striker options are. Baros and Angel were a cut above anything we have left at Villa.
The Fear
Sean 84 is a bitter Celtic fan.
Pking
How did you lose that? I saw the first half and you were all over them!
merlin
You tell us merlin. Its not sour grapes, but they were the poorest team we've come up against this season. Surely there cant be any argument on that score?
