Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Upthevilla_83
Upthevilla_83 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Like most people I didn`t have much of a choice, I was born into a 'Villa` family although my dad was (and still is) a Sunderland fan but he had no choice, claret and blue was in my blood.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Well after watching the dross at Carrow Road at the last game of the season, the fans made their point clear so it was great to see the board listening to us. I am looking forward to watching us play this year and from what I saw at Carrow road he isn't afraid to change his tactics to counter balance the opposition. So fingers crossed, we will do ok under his stewardship

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moment - being part of the first 19th minute applause for Stan, although it was sad to hear about his illness, I was very proud of the Villa fans reaction and support as a whole that day. Proud to be a villan.
Worst moment - realising that we could actually get relegated after the Chelsea game

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Think he came in abit like a kid in a candy shop, then found his feet and now running as a business and not a 'toy`. Although I still think we should have some a more 'footballing` presence on the board for advice with legends like Des Bremner, Ian Taylor etc…..but he`s done ok by me so far, I mean, if I was spending more than I was earning, I would also look at my finances, its just common sense so I don`t blame him for the cut backs in wages, you just have to look what he`s done for the club`s infastructure

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

We need a centre half, maybe Shawcross from Stoke and a forward (Defoe 5m I hear?)

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Collins & Hutton, Delph (on loan), Delfounso (loan) along with Gardner.

7) Favourite current player?

Ireland, just a cut above the rest in midfield

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Mellberg, Laursen, Cowans, Daley, Barry, Carew

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier 12th
FA Cup: 4th round
Carling: Quarter Finals

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

If United hadn't of signed Cantona in the first year of the Premier League, do you think the Villa would be where United are now in terms of dominating English Football? A) I wouldn`t say dominating but I would like to think maybe one of the big four, regularly fighting for the league in the 90`s and CL now.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Dave Grohl (foo Fighters), Mark Hoppus (Blink182) Lars Fredriksen (Rancid) - to talk music over pizza and a beer and Kylie - just cos she`s yummy

b) Age 29

c) Location: Great Barr

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Any lager

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Orange Squash

f) Favourite Film/s: Die Hard, The Hangover, The Dark Knight,

g) Favourite TV Show/s: NCIS, Falling Skies, The Chase

h) Music?: Anything punk or rock, plus stuff like the prodigy

i) Best ever moment in your life: playing guitar on stage with the Drongos who I have looked up to for a few years and inspired me as a guitarist

j) Ambitions: to take my band on tour across europe and to run my own business

k) Wise words: 'if your good at something, never do it for free` The Joker -The Dark Knight and 'what goes around, comes around`

interesting question to self. We were certainly close weren't we? 2nd in the first PL year, then just dropped off. Darn, if only!
