Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Leerj0
Leerj0 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Dad was a Villa Fan and spent his youth in Holte End, so it was only natural that I followed suit

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Really good appointment, I think that he will start to sort out those who want to play for the club and those who just turn up for the cash. I was on the OGS band wagon to be honest, but in hindsight I think that we have the right man to sort the club out.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best - The sacking of McLeish and the Chelsea Away win

Worse - Stan`s ill health for me, as he has been the backbone of the club for many seasons now, plus the appointment of McLeish.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I think that Randy and board have done a pretty good job up until the appointment of McLeish, which they rectified pretty quickly at the end of the season. They have invested in the infrastructure of the club, but I think that they allowed MON too much freedom on players, therefore the issue on wages / expenditure of the club. There is a lot of work for the board to do this season to get the fans back on side.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Not sure which players they need to sign, but we could do with a new back 4, a defensive midfielder, an exciting winger with pace who can cross and a forward who can be a target man.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Where do I start, Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Warnock (hence my previous answer), Delph, The Fonz and Gabby.

7) Favourite current player?

Got to be Stan for me

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Gordon Cowans and Gary Shaw from the great 80`s side.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier 8-12th
FA Cup: 5th Round
Carling: 4th Round

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer? Who did Gordon Cowans break his leg against? West Brom, I went to the game with my Uncle who was a Baggies fan…will never forget it.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Ian Botham, one of my all-time sporting hero's

b) Age 41

c) Location: In the shadows of Fear Towers

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Guinness and Baileys (but not together)

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Orange Juice and Lemonade

f) Favourite Film/s: Blues Brothers, Top Gun

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Red Dwarf, Phoenix Nights

h) Music?: Crowded House, Deacon Blue, Simple Minds, Genesis

i) Best ever moment in your life: The birth of our two children and getting married to Mrs L

j) Ambitions: To have food on the table and a warm and comfortable bed to sleep in at night.

k) Wise words: Treat people how you would like to be treated yourself

Nice interview Leerj0. Since you completed your interview, we have the defensive midfielder so thats one off the shopping list. Agree totally with Q6.

wouldn't be upset with the exit of any of them, want all the defenders gone, don't mind Fonz getting a year out on loan somewhere and if Gabby can be refocused, ok, if not, bye bye!

Could never really get fussed by crowded house, like Simple Minds a great deal but wasn't into their early albums!

Never in all these years heard you say any wise words mate?! ;-p
