Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Villan444

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Villan444
Villan444 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Was given a Villa kit for a Manager that I played for as he was die hard Villa. I spent most of my youth playing rather than supporting and don't live near any teams so it stuck and grew on me.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Excellent, just what we need. All the good things have been said and I agree entirely. Can't think of any negatives about him!!

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Worst was deciding not to renew my ST. No maybe worst was realising that I was correct not to renew and watching the embarrassment of an excuse for a football team that we became under McThousandExpletives.

Best was him leaving.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Still very apprehensive about Randy. There's no way that he could've kept Eckscuses and it's not as though they worked out that they made the wrong decision. The lack of ST sales, negativity, booing at certain games and general laughing stock that we were did for him. Randy didn't wake up one day and suddenly work realise that he made a mistake.

Still, I never bear grudges so he can win me round.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

A player is only as good as his manager IMHO so names are just names. If they are willing and able to learn and develop and capable of playing in the manner desired, then that's what we need.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Bannan and Hutton. I'm not being anti-Scottish but neither is up to it for different reasons. Dunne maybe past it too but would keep Collins. He wants to play and isn't just messing around for the sake of it. 6 months time we may see him back to his best. You need a 'put your head where it hurts and clear your lines ' defender anyway. Just wouldn't give him the ball to pass out from defence!!!!

7) Favourite current player?

Couldn't bear to watch us much this year but love Delph's commitment. Wiemann and Herd also.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

God, Daley, Dalian, Merson, Bosnich, Angel.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

Premier Top half
FA Cup: depends on draw
Carling: as above

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q: Why don't we ever seem able to bring players through to that extra level??

A: Wish I knew

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Love meeting footballers, not a celeb person.

b) Age 34

c) Location: Bucks

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Beer, Red Wine, Brandy, Port.

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Lime cordial and sparkling water, nothing better to get over a hang over!!

f) Favourite Film/s: Carlito's Way, 12 Angry Men (original), Return of the Jedi, Fist of the White Lotus (infact most Kung-Fu.)

g) Favourite TV Show/s: South Park

h) Music?: Dub, King Tubby had a King in front of his name for a reason!!!!

i) Best ever moment in your life: still waiting

j) Ambitions: Live long and prosper

k) Wise words: See answers to questions 1-11

Do you practice kung fu or just watch it? Just thinking whether to start agreeing with you more or not mate!?

Your old manager sounds a top man, like that reason for becoming a Villa fan, amazing what triggers our love affairs with teams isn't it?

Delph is a real footie player who has had a lot of bad luck. He could be one of the 'Greats' and this (2012/13) could be his season.

A good shout vwra, although I am not expecting too many to agree with us.

Delph really needs to be loaned out for a solid 6 months, get some confidence and form back before expecting him to really challenge for the first team again. No point for the second string, then hopefully we'll see the best of him.

Mike - he was loaned out and did well. Starting the season is the best opportunity surely, he has been with us 3 years now, this is his last before renewal I think and I think. Just hope he gets the chance with us.

5 games really isn't enough with how long he's been out Gordon. A good six months to ease himself into proper fitness, form and confidence without what will be a nervous VP crowd after last season, his price tag, and the years of injury will serve him far better I think. Means he can come back January time, raring to go, make an impact and get a contract extension, because yeah from memory he signed a 4 year deal.
