Vital Villa Interviews 2012: AstonBilla
AstonBilla is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Taken to games from a year old by my Mum & Dad. First game I believe was WBA away in 1952/53 season . Slightly later I used to be passed down to the front overhead to sit with my legs through the railings (white I think)

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

My first choice was Martinez but was pleased with Lambert. Just want us to play attacking football again.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

worst - Spurs away , I was embarrassed to be a Villa fan

best - Chelsea away , totally unexpected & out the blue

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I really like Randy without him I think we'd be in the lower leagues by now. Last season was dreadful but a season of 'proper' football will hopefully erase it from my memory

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

I'd like us to sign Adam Johnson & Steven Fletcher

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Any who don't want to put the effort in + Hutton

7) Favourite current player?

Shay Given

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Jimmy McEwan ,Stan Lynn, Gerry Hitchins , Wilson Briggs ( my brother & I used to watch the reserves on alternative weeks !) & David Ginola

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

7th I always expect us to finish 7th & a run in the FA Cup

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

(Q) Would you like Villa to be as successful as Man Utd ?

(A) No I think expecting to win every week makes the disappointment of losing more intense . As long as we play nice football (finish 7th) & pull off unexpected victories occasionally (such as at Chelsea) & win something now & then I'm happy

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? I met my all time hero Douglas Bader in the 1970's . At the time I was a keen Rugby player & for someone to lose their legs just before being selected for England & for him to then fly in the 2nd World War blew my mind.

From today Richard Branson amazing how he's done what he's done

b) Age 59

c) Location: Worcestershire

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Cornish Tribute & Bank's Mild but only if in the Black Country ( I don't think it travels well !)

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tesco Sparkling Peach Water

f) Favourite Film/s: Zulu & Shawshank

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Grimm ,New Tricks & Countryfile

h) Music?: I'd just say good music

i) Best ever moment in your life: Scuba Diving in the Maldives

j) Ambitions: I'd like to buy 5 acres of land & keep some animals

k) Wise words: It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6 ( I was bought up in Aston !! )

Ha, at last, someone else who has watched Grimm. I've asked in the forum and never been answered! I quite like it! I remember well the kids being passed down in the holte end and protected when the goals went in. Lovely stuff.

At last, someone else who likes a decent drop of ale. Can't say I know or heard of Wilson Briggs (and I'm 57). I've only heard of Johnnie Briggs...Lol
