Vital Villa Interviews 2012: GodPlayed4Villa
GodPlayed4Villa is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Early 80`s as a very young nipper for obvious reasons recall villa becoming champions of Europe and winning the league, stuck with them ever since for better and worse(last season being the worst).

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Got excited when OGS was linked purely because of the unknown quantity he would provide but Lambert along with Rodgers were my preferred choices, Rodgers may get his teams playing better football but I think Lambert gets his teams playing successful football. A great appointment excited about next season now.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moment has to be getting 3 points at Chelsea. Worst moment despite there being many football ones to choose from has to be hearing about Stan, I won`t lie it brought a little man tear to my eye at the time, he is a great professional and I wish him a speedy recovery.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Let`s get one thing straight, up until last season Randy had done a pretty decent job, he has invested a princely sum in our club and he continues to invest as required. He did a great job at finishing off our superb training facilities when he first took over and has done a great job at improving the area in and around villa park. Last season was a huge mistake, why supposedly listen to the fans when it came to appointing McLaren and then ignore them completely regarding Eck! Then why lie to the fans in terms of the aims at least in terms of attractive football and objectives? Huge mistake made and they need to make it up to us fans. Appointing Lambert is a great start let`s see how we go from here.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Links I like the sound of so far: poulsen, Anti - Ajax attacking fullback, N`zonzi, Hoillet, Naughton, a young keeper to learn from given (scott loach, Joe Lewis), and perhaps another midfielder like Honda to increase our fan base in Japan as well as adding quality to the midfield, perhaps another CB if we get rid of both Collins and Dunne.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Collins and Dunne, both too inconsistent for me and a real let down the past 2 seasons, Hutton (less said the better) , Warnock (again too inconsistent), The fonz (looked a great prospect but never taken the chance to shine when presented unlike Weimann), would give Bannan one more season to prove himself worthy.

7) Favourite current player?

Gabby / Petrov

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Cowans, McGrath, Platt, Yorke

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

Premier: Top 10 finish would do me with some decent football to boot
FA Cup: qtr final
Carling: semi final

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

What was your reaction when you saw Villa lose to Utd at Wembley? To cry like a baby after waiting so long to get there again!

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Rihanna - to check if those legs are real

b) Age mid 30`s

c) Location: Wolverhampton

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Carling / Bulmers

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Fruit smoothie

f) Favourite Film/s: Snatch, The Dark Knight, loads of others

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Game of Thrones, Dexter

h) Music?: A bit of everything, Example, Pint Shot Riot, reverend & the makers, The Kooks

i) Best ever moment in your life: 3 - Birth of my son, wedding day and playing at Villa Park for football aid

j) Ambitions: see more of the world when I retire

k) Wise words: Don`t eat yellow snow

Great interview, certainly agree if we could get a decent Far East player the interest in Villa would skyrocket over there!

Retire early or see the world now. Life is not a dress rehearsal and none of us know how long we have got.

we are signing Poulsen , I had dream last night that I asked Doug who we were signing and he said Poulsen . A really strange dream as I have no idea who Poulsen is or if he's any good lol

I'd agree with most things said in that interview, especially regarding views on LEner, I wouldn't have been able to put it better myself. Good read, thanks.

Thanks for the kind comments all. Apparently honda wants a move to central Europe but unfortunately I think the lack of European football would put him off joining us.
