Vital Villa Interviews 2012: voiceoftheholte
voiceoftheholte is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

First home game was 1969 . First away game was Spuds in the League Cup Final in 1971. Fortunately I followed my Dad. Mother is a proper Blue Nose and has had a season ticket for nearly 50 years. The thought of not being part of all those titles, cup wins, trips abroad, all the Wembley visits and of course 26th May 1982 is too frightening to comprehend. I just hope she doesn`t cut me out of the will haha.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I have said that I have a nagging doubt, but I can`t really put my finger on as to why. However I am full of optimism and like most Villans have the mojo back and really looking forward to the season.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best was Weimanns 30 yard rocket in the last minute against Fulham. Worst - I really don`t know where to start answering that.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I am a Randolph fan. He is paying (we are all paying in reality) for his errors in the first few years. For a custodian of a club the results are judged at the end of a tenure, not the end of a season. His appointment of the last manager was a mistake. We all make them. Move on.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Messi, Van Persie, Joe Hart. Nothing but the best for Villa Park. In all seriousness I am happy for Lambert to be the judge. I am just pleased to have a manager, despite the nagging doubts, that I have confidence in to do the right thing.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Good managers make average players better. I am happy to see if Lambert can get more out of what he has got.

7) Favourite current player?

Same as I put in this interview at the start of last season. Stan. Absolutely no question. The 19th Minute.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

McGrath. Dwight. Bosnich. Withe (especially his shin). Little. Platt. Mortimer.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: Champions
FA Cup: Winners
Carling: Winners

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q - Why doesn`t everybody support the Villa. A - They will in time.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Kirstie Gallagher and most blokes know the answer to that.

b) Age 48

c) Location: In between several homes at the moment, but mainly Brum.

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Guinness

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tea

f) Favourite Film/s: Gladiator and Shawshank. I love films where men show leadership to overcome the odds.

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Fringe and Mentalist

h) Music?: Very eclectic, but really love acoustic soft rock.

i) Best ever moment in your life: Birth of daughter.

j) Ambitions: Own the Villa

k) Wise words: Life isn`t a dress rehearsal. Make every day count.
