Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Mister Saxon

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Mister Saxon
Mister Saxon is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Ever since my Dad took me to my first game when I was 7, When I watched Villa beat Manchester City 3-1 in the 1992/1993 season.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I'm delighted with him joining us. He is the kind of attacking, positive, young manager we need. I think he will bring the good times back to Villa Park and hopefully some trophies too!

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Worst - Appointing Alex McRelegator.
Best - Sacking McRelegator!

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

He has done wonders for Villa, completely revitalised Bodymoor Heath into an incredible Training facility, backed Martin O'Neill with some great signings, but also apoointed some weird managers!!
By appointing Paul Lambert, I think he has got a lot of Villa fans back on side. I think a decent top half finish, possibly Europe will more than make up for last season's dire display.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

I'd love to see Grant Holt, & Adam Johnson. We definitely need a back up goalie, a centre back, box to box midfielder, left winger and striker. £20 - £25 million might just be enough.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

I don't think N'Zogbia can live up to the Villa fans expectations, so possibly him. We could do a lot better than Hutton in the right back position, so he needs to go. Other than that I think we should keep a hold of players that want to stay.

7) Favourite current player?

Well it was Cuellar, but unfortunately he has left, but I'm a fan of Agbonlahor. He has a lot of pace and potential about him.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Dean Saunders, Ian Taylor, Paul McGrath & Dalian Atkinson (How he never got into the England set-up, I'll never know)

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: 10th (I personally would like a top 6 finish, but MON managed 11th in his first season, then look what happened...!)
FA Cup: Quarters/Semi's...?
Carling: Again quarters or semi's

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q) Will Villa ever win the title in your lifetime?
A) With the right manager, decent players, and the cap on spending and homegrown players, yes I think they will.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Jim Carrey - The guy is hilarious!

b) Age 26

c) Location: Midlands

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Cider (Bulmers no 17. strongbow)

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Dr Pepper

f) Favourite Film/s: Oceans 11

g) Favourite TV Show/s: The Big Bang Theory

h) Music?: Progressive Rock, Drum n Bass, Electronica

i) Best ever moment in your life: n/a

j) Ambitions: To succeed in everything I want in life.

The excitement of the first game with your dad, still remember it well, mine was sadly not the 90's, I'm getting old! 78. But still remember the thrill and also seeing the pride on dads face having his two kids at a game with him up in the old lovely Trinity upper!

Wouldn't mind seeing Zoggy get a season under a decent manager with decent tactics to see what he can do. At the very least don't sell him at a loss!

Yeah it was a fantastic day. Fond memories. I'm sure Lambert won't sell Zoggy, but he may need to, to fund other transfers. I would hope he doesn't sell at a loss.
