Mat777 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I went to my first Villa game at the tender age of 4 years old - my old man was a steward in the Trinity Road stand and I used to duck under the turnstile to get in - always remember getting a pork pie and ridiculously weak cup of tea at half time with the rest of the stewards who were a great lot.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Hopeful and optimistic as ever - any manager that can get us past the half way line with some clue as to how to attack teams will do me - farewell hoof ball {fingers crossed}

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moments were when I was expecting a cricket score away at Chelski and a couple of individuals actually turned up wanting to play for us - unfortunately short lived - but a good respite from the rest of the Christmas fixtures.

Worst moments were 90 minutes of sheer gob smack - watching the Carling Cup tie vs Bolton - firstly because we were sat in the deadly stand not too far from the Bolton fans singing rather loudly all through the game, secondly for the clueless, lethargic, dismal Villa performance.

Then there was the Spurs game….

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I had high hopes for Mr. L, but can see why the purse strings have tightened post the O`Neill era and some of the daft amounts that were being paid for wages of 2nd string players. I`ve not lost hope in him yet and until Houllier said that rubbish about losing to Liverpool, I was beginning to see us play some nice stuff and look like a football team again….then he hired that guy from Small Heath……the anti-football was astonishing…..was Mr. L given bad advice? Could our club really get nobody else? My optimism took one hell of a beating…..But may be growing again with our new manager (if he is given a decent war chest)

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Chris Samba (Blackburn), Morten Gamst Petersen (Blackburn), Holt (Norwich), Milner (Man City) Petrov (Bolton), Keane (LA Galaxy), Jarvis (Wolves)

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Now that Heskey's gone (woo hoo!) Ireland, Hutton, Warnock, Agbonlahor, Nzogbia, Albrighton, Delfouneso (in that order)

7) Favourite current player?

DB9

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Gary Shaw, Peter Withe, Sid Cowans, Colin Gibson, David Platt, Didier Six

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premiership: Top 8

FA Cup: First round loss to Man U (nothing new there)

Q. Why is that bottled Fosters that is sold at half time so nasty?

i) Best ever moment in your life: Lots - that I won`t repeat - but football wise (other than 1982 in Rotterdam) was in Tenerife watching England 5 Germany 1 in Yates`s (better screens than Lineker's)

j) Ambitions: I`d like to build my own house (or at least manage the building of it)

k) Wise words: In Life there are 2 things one must do, one is to die , one is to live until you die, the rest is up to you (stolen from a dodgy time travel movie whose name escapes me)
