Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Gordonsleftboot

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Gordonsleftboot
Gordonsleftboot is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Moved to Solihull in 1961 and wanted to support local team. Went to Blues, Baggies then Villa. After seeing the other two, there was no choice to make!

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

To be honest, slightly underwhelmed at present. Just hope his lack of experience is overcome by his shrewdness and ability to inspire.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best: Weimann's goal against Fulham - what relief.
Worst: seeing fans argue amongst themselves at Blackburn.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Initially good, but believe his over-spending and too sharp cost cutting over last two years was the real reason for the awful season just gone.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

A solid central midfielder to replace Stan, a winger with pace who can cross a ball, two sound defenders.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Hutton, Gabby who has gone stale and as many defenders as we can afford to replace.

7) Favourite current player?

Stan

8) Favourite all time player/s?

The Andys: Lochhead and Gray, Olof, McGrath, Brian Little, and for sheer guts Brian Godfrey.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: 10th to 12th
FA Cup: Fifth round
Carling: Semi Final

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Why has a team from the second city never challenged consistently for the top? Because the finances have never been strong enough and no-one has put everything together over a period of time.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Richard Branson to discover some secrets, MON to hear the real reasons for the fall out, Pippa Middleton for obvious reasons!

b) Age 61

c) Location: N Wales

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: whatever is available

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Cappuccino without that awful cinnamon.

f) Favourite Film/s: Airplane - but hardly ever watch films.

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Silent Witness, Waking the Dead

h) Music?: Anything that rocks

i) Best ever moment in your life: Becoming father & grandfather, winning European Cup

j) Ambitions: To travel more

k) Wise words: Discussion is an exchange of knowledge; an argument an exchange of ignorance.

lol, love the favourite alcholic drink answer, 'whatever is available' as bad as mine that, I think I said whatever is bought for me! Also love the wise words Gordonsleftboot. Top stuff.
