Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Danny_Villaman
Danny_Villaman is next for the Vital Villa interview.

{Edited by JF at the request of Danny whose first language is British sign language.. thread in off topic if you are interested: Click Here }

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

When I was a little boy. I support Villa thanks to my Uncle Mike who is a big Villa fan. He took me to Everton away with Uncle Gavin (a Toffee). They asked which team I liked the best and I picked Villa, I can`t remember why.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

My View on Paul Lambert, mmmm... it is very good appointment, in my opinion he is a vision for this club, he also plan a to z in one match and adapts/adjusts pre and during games. Also he likes good football that we will like to watch...hope he can find the right players to bring in and sort out the players like Collins, Warnock, Dunne, Ireland, Hutton and N`Zogbia bringing them up to standard.

I actually thought C.Raneiri was better option because he is well-known and good at bringing the youth through.; Also he has a good eye for buying young players. Also he is tactical master as well, he was not on Randy`s list which is a shame as he would have been a good Director of Football if he had brought in a young manager with him, like Laursen.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best Moments, Sacking McLeish and also the win over Chelsea.
Worst Moments, Appointing Alex McLeish, that was very dull and boring football to watch.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I am angry with Lerner for appointing Alex McLeish, it wasn`t because he came from Birmingham City, it was because he relegated them TWICE and played boring football. But to be fair to Randy, he has put in a lot of money for transfers and built the best training facilities in the UK. If the press rumours are true and we have 20m over over to spend on players, I will be more than happy to back him.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Target Man Striker (surprise me! I would prefer a hidden and young gem!..) Replaces Emile Heskey. Would be nice one of them - Jay Rodriguez or Jordan Luke Rhodes would be a good addition to our strike force.
Centre Midfield (Box to Box "Dynamic') to step in for Petrov (get well Stan) as Gardner needs a bit more time to develop. (I would try to get James Milner.)
Defensive Midfield, how about bringing back Reo-Coker as Bolton have been relegated? Or try get Emmanuel Frimpong from Arsenal.
Left-footed right sided attacking winger or Left wide midfield, Adam Johnson? We could offer him regular games but same as Milner, wages might be an issue)

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Hutton-Dunne-Collins-Warnock (Make sure we keep them until replaced! Cylne for Hutton and Clarke for Dunne (save money) Baker for Collins (save money) Warnock, we need scout pace left back as we got balance full back (Eden Stevens) but he still untested in the premiership. *Baker I think is potentially a very good Centre-Back, he will need more match time same as Clark. Also hope we see Lichaj more.

Delph, he is good players but he has not yet shown his potential after horrible injury and I think we should sell him before he can leave on a free.

7) Favourite current player?

Samir Carruthers (I think he is really good players hope see him more next season)
Shay Given (he need more catch ball rather punch or push ball away but he is damn best shot stopping goalkeeper since Bonisch)
Gary Gardner (if he give freedom try get long shot more and late run in box, he will deadly threat, also he can play cover or defensive midfield if need)
Andi Weimann (I like him as he seem good all-round striker (Shearer and Bastisa) if he learn and play more games time, he intelligent player and team-work, great link midfield and attack ie. he play deep that help midfield generate attack and push up, chase ball make defender under pressure)

8) Favourite all time player/s?

@villa
Paul Mcgrath
Tony Daley
Dean Saunder
Martin Laursen
Olaf Mellberg
Mark Bonisch
Dwight Yorkes
Juan Paula Angel

@outside villa
G. Hagi
G.Bastuita
P.Schimecal @ Manchester United Era (I know he is player for us before, sad he not up to his standard)
R.Baggio

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

Premier: 6th to 10th
FA Cup: Quarter-Final
Carling: Semi Final

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Who you like to see top goal scorer this season ? - Andi Weimann!
Who you like see play more games this season? - Gary Gardner and Samir Carruthers!
