Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Eaton_thevillafan
Eaton_thevillafan is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a Villa fan when i was 10 (round the same time i got into football) and most of my Moms side of the family are Villa supporters also. I can remember watching Villa beat united 3-1 in the coca cola cup final in the same season. What a game! Glad I followed my Moms side of football rather than my Dad's side or else i could have been a wolves fan! *shudders*

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Happy for him to to be the manager of Aston Villa. He did very well at Norwich. I will like to see what formations and tactics he will deploy with our squad. I'm hoping that he can also get the best out of Ireland, N-zog and Agbonlahor as these players were just so inconsistent. I will be happy if he ships out Collins, Dunne and Warnock as the behaviour of these individuals have been nothing but shocking! So all in all my faith and optimism has been renewed for the up and coming season!

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best Moment? - Beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on NYE. I started to believe that Mcleish was turning it around. And it set the evening up perfectly for seeing 2012 in. Worst Moment? - Being beaten by Bolton Wanderers at Villa park. I went to play football in Ruberry instead as i lost my bottle to watch the match. I caught the result when i returned to my home. I was gobsmacked. I knew then that we were in real and serious trouble. I read the reports on Vital Villa the morning after and read the venom directed at Mcleish after the match. The whole situation just depressed me.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I like Randy Lerner. I think he tries to do the right thing and hopes it works but its plain to see they are the wrong decisions i.e Houllier (purely on his health reasons) and Mcleish. Otherwise i cant really fault him. Yes, If we have a good season and a good cup run then i can put last season as just a one off!

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Definitely a batch of new defenders! Who though i have no idea! A new attacking mid-fielder would also be nice. Let see if Mr Lambert sends the scouts to euro 2012!

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

The defence - Collins in particular

7) Favourite current player?

Given. He kept us up in the Premiership. Adreas Weimann was also another player who impressed me. Looking back, how important was his goal against Fulham? The Stoke goal was an absolute peach.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Martin Laursen. Never backed down from anything on the pitch.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

Premier: - 7th to 13th
FA Cup: - 5th round
Carling: - Winners ;)

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q: What are the season expectations for the next few seasons?
A: Top 10 at least with a sequence of good cup runs

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? James Hetfield of Metallica. The bloke is a heavy metal genius!

b) Age 27

c) Location: Kidderminster,

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Desperado, Jagermeister and redbull (Jagerbombs)

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Coca Cola

f) Favourite Film/s: Aliens and the Crow

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Misfits, Drawn Together

h) Music?: Heavy metal mainly but I'm drawn to a bit of electro like Skrillex

i) Best ever moment in your life: Quite a few but seeing Metallica live at Wembley in 2007 was perhaps the best moment ever

j) Ambitions: To pass my MCTS courses and exams to become Microsoft certified in my career

k) Wise words: Its not cards you are dealt in life, its how you play them

100% agree Collins should be first to go, he is a disgrace off the field and terrible on it, long ball merchant too
