Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Carew AV Legend

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Carew AV Legend
Carew AV Legend is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a Villa fan from a young age really like the majority. However being brought up in the north I have my dad to thank for bringing me up a Villain, as he's from Tamworth. In addition to that though, Aston Villa FC is in my blood as my great grandad played for the mighty Claret and Blue in the early 1900's.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

To be fair I would have taken a risk with OGS, having said that Lambert seem's to fit into our new ethos at the club. Has link's to MON which I also think could go down well with the Villa, especially when he can work under a budget unlike MON (that was his only downfall). Didn't see much of Norwich last season, but as long as they don't stop after one goal bring it on!

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moment - Probably the 1-3 at Chelsea, great game to watch and Ireland ran the game. We also scored more than one goal hahaha
Worst moment - Losing to Arsenal after being up 0-2 at half time in the FA Cup.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Randy from what I hear of is a great guy, shame he does no interviews though. He reminds me of a modern Tory David Cameron, who is trying to cut the deficit of the club, whilst also wanting growth. However It looks like Randy is doing an Osbourne and making some U-turns. But all in all Randy is a good man, despite appointing Mcliesh.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

In my opinion we need a new CB, an experienced RB (despite Lichaj doing well), a strong but creative midfielder,a winger and a new striker. Dont see the point in a new GK bring someone up from the reserves give them a chance.
GK-Siegrist Ri
RB-Bosingwa/Cuellar(BRING HIM BACK ON LOWER WAGES SIMPLE!!)
CB-Hangalend
CM/CAM - Kallastrom/Milner/Reo-Coker
RM-Adam Jonhson
ST- Owen/Defoe/Holt/Moses

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

BANNAN - no talent, loses possession to quickly (10 yards passes - Fail)
-The Fonz (on loan to PL club)
-Hutton, obvious reasons

7) Favourite current player?

Probably Darren Bent, save us twice practically, without his goals this season and last we'd have already been in the Championship

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Carew, Gabbu, Laursen, Melberg, A Young, Milner, Withe, McGrath, Friedel, Yorke and Petrov (long list)

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

PL - 6th-12th
Carling Cup - Semi's
FA Cup - Final (hopefully winners)

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

First game?
Wigan Athletic away, we beat the 0-4, I nearly fell down the steps at the top of the stand they were that steep.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Would like to meet Piers Morgan, so he could give me tips on how to become a better Journalist
