Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Midbedsvillan01

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Midbedsvillan01
Midbedsvillan01 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

1957. From the day my dad took me down to VP as a 7 year old to see Johnny Dixon bring the FA Cup back to Villa I sat on his shoulders and was totally gobsmacked by the atmosphere.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Looking at his CV I think he has the potential to be the best Manager since Ron Saunders.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moment Chelsea game away. Worst moment abject failure at Tottenham.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

Difficult one with Lerner keeping so far below the radar. I think both he and the board have got some significant bridge building to do.I think they showed a great deal of naievety and ignorance of the depth of feeling particularly of the silent majority of Villa fans particularly with last years appointment. Nothing short of full backing of Lambert in the transfer market without over extravagance will appease the majority of Villa fans.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Very much the managers call, but of the players are saw last season who I would like to see at Villa Park 2 particularly struck me as good potential good signingsJunior Hoillet from Blackburn and Victor Moses from Wigan.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Warnock,Hutton, Collins they were not consistent enough and at times did not seem interested. Delfouneso has had chances to make a name for himself but unlike Weimann has not taken them I dont think he will know.

7) Favourite current player?

Ciaran Clark

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Dwight Yorke

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?

Premier: 9th
FA Cup: 6th round
Carling Cup: 6th round

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Do you have any regrets in the time you have supported Aston Villa.
Yes not being able to go to Rotterdam for the European Cup Final.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
