Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Piper

Vital Villa Interviews 2012: Piper
Piper is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

It always amazes me when people say they 'became a fan` at 6 or 4 or something like that. I have hardly any memories of the first seven years of my life, just like most people. We forget stuff from our childhood as we get old don`t we? So I`m just going to assume that I was a fan from birth as my Dad was a Villan - no scrap that, as I came from one of his sperm that must mean I was a Villa fan from conception which would of been 1972. I can`t remember my first game, my earliest memory of going down the Villa must be from the seventies / early eighties. It was against Stoke and I remember getting my feet caught in the chair in front as the bloke sat down. I was too shy to say anything so had to get my Dad to ask him.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Yeah, pretty pleased. Better than Brendon in my opinion. Look how Norwich hammered us in the last game. He`s going to need money though. 50 milllion at least.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Losing to Albion at home was dire. Getting absolutely slaughtered by Swansea just knocked me for six. The no show at Arsenal was not even comprehendible. The overriding worst moments were just the huge negativity around the club and between fans, especially on here as I was in a majority of 1 in my support for Eck. Sheep!

Best was probably Gabby`s goal against Blackburn and the home win against Norwich.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I don`t think we can knock the board. They made a mistake letting MON run riot with the chequebook, but I could see the logic in Big Eck`s appointment. It was all about tightening the belts and using the squad we did have to shut up shop and be hard to beat. Shame it didn`t work out. All the board have to do to make next season a decent one is to get the money out again.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Two new central defenders, new playmaker, new goalscorer - haven`t got a clue who.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Anyone on massive stupid wages and over 30 - however the squad is so thin I don`t think we should get rid of anyone else. Players like JC, Stevie Ireland, Zoggie and even Big Al H will thrive under a decent, confident, positive manager. Trouble is I have this nagging doubt at the back of my mind that Gabby is not good enough....

7) Favourite current player?

Given, Benty and errrr that`s it. The lads have to win me back round.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

God, Tony Daley, Deano, Platty, Sid

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with 25m or so spent?
Premier: 8th
FA Cup: Third Round - This competition is cursed for us.
Carling: Quarter Finals

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?
Where is the best place for a supporter to take a dump in Villa Park at half time?

The North Stand, T Block. There is even a coat peg on the back of the door.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure: (based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!

a) which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? The Prime Minister. Just to say thank you for ending 13 years of red hell.

b) age 40

c) location Location: Oldbury

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Worthingtons

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Ice Cold R Whites

f) Favourite Film:
Back to the future

g) Favourite TV Show: The Wire

h) Music?: I only ever listen to Talksport

i) Best ever moment in your life: Apart from usual kids and marriage stuff, probably my holiday to Magaluf when I was 19. Oh yes.

j) Ambitions: Have some money left at the end of the month.

k) Wise words: Never wipe your ass forward.
